@natashabernal.bsky.social Why are you talking about useful narrow "AI" (machine learning) in the same breath as LLMs? They are completely different technologies. One is a word vomit generator and the other are actual useful technologies. You cant ask AlphaFold what 2+2 is or why the sky is blue.

@bitwig.bsky.social Hi. I just bought 'Bitwig Studio Producer' I'm on Arch btw :p (CachyOS) I have installed the "stale" AUR beta version (January release). Is there anything that does not work if I use the Flatpak version? I have a 'Behringer Studio L' that I need to use with ALSA drivers.

Aside. As a cancer survivor myself (30 years ago) I wish you the best of luck with your treatment <3. If someone calls me Einstein, they are not always being sarcastic :p I did loose my mother to cancer though, when she was 36 years old.

Ukrainian drones are ineffective cos Russian surface to air missile went air to surface to make an oil terminal surface to air. I remain a master strategist.

Oh god. I just got Android 17 on my Pixel. A bunch of useless AI garbage features I did not ask for. @grapheneos.org is looking better and better by the day. I bought my Pixel a couple of weeks ago and I ran LineageOS on my last phone. But Lineage is also too close to vanilla Android.

There's a video game coming out which used generative AI to make assets but is also "protected by Denuvo" which is just such a perfect encapsulation of how intellectual property law works and who it is for

🫶 Welcome back #Iran! Metrics show a further rise in connectivity as mobile networks and other segments are reconnected to the global internet: • Filternet remains in place but can be worked around • WhatsApp now restricted, requiring circumvention • Some users still offline

It is my personal responsibility to protect the weak in my community. This is why I take vaccines, so the chances of me getting ill and transmitting it to someone that either can't take vaccines or would have serious complications if they get the illness is minimized.

My mother died from cervical cancer when she was 36 years old, I was 20 years old when she died, and she fought cancer for 5 years. This happened 31 years ago. Today we have a vaccine against cervical cancer called the HPV-vaccine.
