I want a Ted Lasso spinoff that's just an anthology series about Roy Fucking Kent on various celebrity TV shows. Roy Kent on Strictly. Roy Kent on I'm A Celebrity. Roy Kent on Celebrity MasterChef. Give me this.

Happy birthday to Star Trek, as it happens I have a very obvious reason I'm glad that universe exists; without it, at the very least, one of my novels would have a very different title. Even without that connection, however, this universe has given me a lot of joy. Live long and prosper, Star Trek!

I bring a kind of 'the relationship dynamic between Christine Daae and the Phantom is actually more tragic and compelling if it's NOT romantic' vibe to the function that Andrew Lloyd Webber doesn't really like.

Remember when BBC Sherlock was a weird outlier people laughed at because it had ridiculously short seasons with overly long hiatuses in between? Who exactly decided that all live action series should be like that?

Something that is giving me absurd amounts of dopamine right now is assigning Disney 'I Want' songs to my wretched little Fallen London/Mask Of The Rose OC. She is a Lovecraft narrator firmly convinced she's in a sweeping fairytale romance-slash-adventure and making all her decisions accordingly.

How many of the pre-orders for New Sentinel are actually from people who think the weirdly high price is acceptable, and how many of them are from people who already spent £150 just for the Zodiac in the hopes the combination gimmick would be worth it and can't bear to admit that it really wasn't.

(And of course, how many are from scalpers who need to artificially inflate the demand for this thing so they can flip it for twice the price without being undercut by official sellers offering it at a discount just to be rid of it?)

The real horror of rulespasta isn't the things the rules exist to protect you from, or the consequences of breaking them. It's the looming spectre of industry deregulation insisting that the rules aren't necessary.

Wishbone was so based for giving Erik & Christine a happy ending that *isn't* 'actually she was in love with him the whole time' but instead 'they agree to stay friends even after everything; just because she's marrying someone else doesn't mean he'll lose her companionship forever'.

It's always 'did Christine betray Erik by not staying with him?' and never 'did Erik betray Christine first by hijacking the memory of her dad and pretending to be an angel sent to be her friend and mentor whilst spying on her, killing her coworkers, and trying to threaten her into marrying him?'

The problem with Phantom of the Opera adaptations is that everyone wants the Christine-Erik dynamic to be some kind of sexy forbidden romance when really it's just a goth version of that one Lilo & Stitch meme.

There's something very funny about hearing Optimus referred to as the Last of the Primes, because all I can think of is Rodimus and Primal standing off to the side like 'and what are we, chopped liver?'

Most of the Disney Fairies dolls I had as a kid were based on the books and not the films, and I was never really happy with the latter's character roster as a result. Silvermist is okay but Rani CUT HER OWN WINGS OFF to save the day and that's metal as heck.

New conspiracy theory: the reason YouTube has started showing adverts telling you to watch YouTube on your TV is because the TV app has twice as many ads. Source: sweet Primus there are so many ads on the YouTube TV app.

It's almost impressive how obsessed That Guy is with Min-Maxed. He's like Captain Ahab, if Moby Dick didn't actually take his leg off and was just kind of in the general area when another unrelated whale did something similar.

An important addition: Ahab in this case was never all that invested in the whole 'whaling' thing and has actually only been on a boat maybe once in his life but still has VERY STRONG OPINIONS about all these whales doing normal whale things without him.

Some of the most random-ass Transformers have gotten good recent toys and yet we still haven't seen a single Velocity or Fulcrum, even by third parties, despite them having been major characters. Hell, Botanica's been waiting thirty years!

Transformers: has multiple major characters who haven't had any toyline rep ever (or what they have is widely considered lacking). Third party: 'Y'all want a seventeenth Masterpiece-scaled Optimus?'

I think about the fact that Beast Hunters Soundwave is the closest thing we have to a Botanica toy a very normal amount for someone who hasn't seen Beast Machines. (Soundwave continues to be the MVP of the franchise.)

"We can't give Arcee any vehicle parts on her legs or arms because she needs to be ✨feminine✨" - overdone, gross, skill issue "We're giving Arcee a meteor hammer and too many jutting edges on her limbs would interfere with her moves" - inspired, visually interesting, tell me more

I saw Star Eagle and thought we were finally getting an Esmeral, and maybe I'm too not-American to Get It but I still think that's a better use than Murica Fuck Yeah. (Did they really have to give it a red cap? Questionable choice.)

I suddenly had a Vision of a world where they did the extremely minor work to retool a current Optimus into Thunderclash (red, white, blue and over-the-top) for Muricaformers instead. Then I remembered the problem with this is that Thunderclash is canonically One Of Us (English).

If I had a nickel for every time a new Transformers continuity cast Perceptor in a role that would have made more sense for Moonracer I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.

This is Princess. She and her human work hard every day collecting trash at an apartment building. It is an often thankless job, but one kind resident thought the pair should know how much they are appreciated, and that Princess should get a uniform too. 13/10 for all (TT: oliviaolp)
