I find the entire statement pretty insulting. If you accept an invitation from the Heritage Foundation, with it’s deep connection to project 2025, to spend time with child rapist who stole money from kids with cancer, you know what you signed up for. Own it. www.archmil.org/posts/a-publ...

Micah’s point here is legit, but I don’t think it is just puritans. Windows 10 is still 1/4-1/3 the desktop market in part because of enshitification.

"I will not touch anything with ai-generated code" is going to mean, in pretty short order, "I will not touch software" this is just functionally what software development is now and it's only going to accelerate from here

Average users are increasingly avoiding ever shittier products. From Anthropic’s source leak, METR’s algorithmic vs holistic study, etc. it certainly appears AI use is accelerating the issue.

It makes sense. If a company accelerates development with heavy use of machine generated code there is inherent cognitive debt. It’s always harder and slower to find and fix bugs in code you didn’t write.

I’m currently in Detroit and the very busy certification lab can’t give me accurate date time stamps in collected data. They keep machines offline to avoid automatic updates, since updates cause too much downtime and have even damaged vehicles. So the clocks on the PCs drift.

Today we got access to a smoking gun document from ICE that shows how it is weaponized against progressive groups registering voters while building a voter suppression database.

I personally avoid ordering Mexican food in northern states, but seeing a taco salad shaped like a giant taco in Michigan has me reconsidering. Maybe I just love foods that either make me feel exceptionally large or small. Has @darthbluesky.bsky.social ever done a giant foods thread?

Why are AI success anecdotes always so disconnected from common sense and basic reality for most people? Great news! We no longer debate dinner! Because I automated committing us to ingredients and prep time a week at a time…🙄

For example... My wife and I automated our meal planning with AI. There are parameters of what works for us and our kid, what food exposures we want, macros, etc. It then crawls the stop & shop site to add items for a pick-up order and writes up daily recipes for a week. bsky.app/profile/tres...

Trump: "Because of tariffs, we are taking in hundreds of billions of dollars of profits. It's one of the reasons I can offer, if Republicans win the House and Senate, $5,000 to every adult. We can do it and the Democrats can't, because the Democrats don't have any income."

Replying to @us.theguardian.com

Gone are the mass raids and militarized metro operations. Gone are the pomp and pageantry. But ICE arrests have hit record levels. ICE operations are no longer concentrated in large American cities. Immigration enforcement officials are also working in suburban and rural areas, all across the US.

A sorta odd request. I’m looking for an artistic cartographer or an illustrator to commission to make a cute, useful street map of an actually existing village. Searching the internet produces a bunch of fantasy map specialists and AI slop, which isn’t quite it. Know anyone? (This is paid, ofc.)
