Hell has frozen. Hooten says something reasonable and based in reality and yeah there's nothing I disagree in there. He could also go on to talk about how Gang membership is dominated by poverty, people who have gone through state care and all the issues but baby steps I guess...

It's a shame that the movie Cocaine Bear didn't spawn sequels. Imagine... Cocaine whale: the vengeance. A whale accidentally swallowed a shipment and then goes on a drug fueled rampage targeting billionaires boats.

Imagine if our common law had come from Wales and not England 🤔🤔🤔 Note all animals had a value not just the queen, and from what I can see the begging rules was three days not houses.

Yes the transition to the system that supports that is hard work and will involve discomfort, but the overall benefits to society outways that and we should undertake it.

With poverty you're either paying to address it one way, or paying to address it another. Letting it play out costs even more. Better to address it up front in a way that is most effective, dignified and inexpensive. Welcome to basic income. bsky.app/profile/scot...

I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Universal Basic Income since 2013. Here's a collection of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments and studies of cash transfer programs around the world. This will be a VERY LONG and ongoing thread focused entirely on empirical evidence. 🧵

Yep. This the thing. There are valid use cases where AI can help and gives good results. You need governance and knowledge to do it. And like pretty much everything nowadays there is a corporate entity with moral dubious behind it.

I feel currently unless I want to become a subsistence living hermit fully decoupled from society every choice is what tool product is the least evil

I often think about how we define freedom and wealth. There has been this fixation on the idea that lower taxes give more choice and freedom but does it really? Where is the choice and freedom especially for those on low income where so much goes to just trying to put a roof over your head

We have transferred our subsistence living from working the land to giving our labour to the aristocracy. But the landed gentry who own the land now are the corporate who own our air...

Even as we decry the existence of Billionaires we are fooled as so much of their wealth is smoke and mirrors. We are being tricked by large numbers that don't reflect reality to the theft of real wealth which should not be measured by a dollar sign.

I proposed to @parrykylie.bsky.social after a week of dating. She said yes and had to cancel a date with someone else she had lined up. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thirty three years later still going. But grateful it was a guy date cos not sure if it had been a girl date what the answer would have been 🤣🤣🤔

Everyone’s mad at Danny Trejo for signing on to Ben Shapiro’s pro-ICE movie but now his son reveals how Shapiro’s team tricked an old man into doing this 😡

Waiting for MRI to get a Pic of the Prostate... Then I get ti find out if a just have old man large one or the C word... Most likely to be old man but still...

The point of government services is to provide services that aren't commercial viable but enable growth and access... So yes the Greens trains plan are probably not commercially viable but that's THE POINT... Also what road is commercially viable? It's infrastructure.

That's his band... o Ed you are in trouble now...

The Irish musicians, Beoga, who play alongside Ed Sheeran, have withdrawn from Sheeran’s tour. This is the statement they published on Instagram:

The only part of the Ed Sheeran statement i can understand or be sympathetic too is feeling responsible to the people working on the tour who can't afford for it not to go ahead..
