On this special edition of LLWD we have a report back and timeline from Camp O:shad in Lochiel, Arizona where land defenders have been blocking border wall construction with tree sits and lockdowns along with creative theater and ceremony. live-like-the-world-is-dying.pinecast.co/episode/bab4...
“Nobody has any idea what’s actually happening out here,” Quiroga said. “This is true dystopia.”

⚠️ Border wall contractors plan to remove thousands of sacred saguaros (ha:ṣañ) on sovereign O'odham land starting Monday — Indigenous People's Day. Tadai Me:i Camp calls supporters to join in prayer and protest on the Tohono O’odham Nation.
We stand with the Tohono O'odham nation against the construction of a second border wall that would further desecrate Quitobaquito Springs and 62 miles of sovereign land. For centuries the Tohono O'odham people lived free of barriers, surveillance, and militarization.
Tadai Me:i Camp calls supporters to join in prayer and protest on the Tohono O’odham Nation as border wall construction is set to begin this Monday, on Indigenous Peoples Day.

Right now, brave land defenders are risking their lives to disrupt the construction of Trump's border wall. You should donate to their legal fund here: givebutter.com/free-the-jag... And you can go to Lochiel, AZ now and fight this. If not us, then who? If not now, then when?
Last night, Border Patrol & Fisher Industries, with the cooperation of Mexican authorities, cut down the tree sit platform and safety lines, leaving the tree sitter stranded 100’ off the ground. She has no water or supplies.

Two new pieces today: Latest from the ongoing border wall standoff in Lochiel. A person remains in the tree on the Mexican side, despite Border Patrol cutting down their platform last night. www.lookoutnews.org/lochiel-ariz... and an essay on fascism: johnwashington.substack.com/p/the-quicks...
It's been 12+ hours since Border Patrol cut the tree sitter's platform and safety and stole her food & water. Ground support is now cut off by the wall and BP is the only US agency with access to provide life-saving aid. Please call Border Patrol public affairs now!
Latest from this morning: tree sitter is still in the tree, holding strong after hours without water, food, or a platform to rest on, stranded in the branches 100 feet off the ground without safety or a way to get down.
Hey @claudiasheinbaum.bsky.social, is killing tree sitters to help Trump build the border wall part of Morena's ecosocialist transformation?

This is incredibly dangerous and willfully so. They’re choosing to put this person at great risk, and many of the people participating are contractors along side cops from both sides

Land defenders are now cut off from the tree by the border wall, banging pots and pans and singing in support of the tree sitter, who has been stranded all night without water, a platform, or supplies.

“I said, with due respect, sir, they are standing here with pepper spray artillery and gas masks on. They are not talking to us; they are assaulting us.”
Last night in Lochiel, Arizona, heavily armed Border Patrol agents fired tear gas and pepper balls at protesters trying to stop a double border wall from cutting through the San Rafael Valley. Melissa del Bosque reports on what witnesses say happened next. Read full story🔗🦂:

BP are technically first responders, but as we can see here and we have seen countless times through the years, they do not respond to help people who they don’t think need help. Because of international cell phone agreements, it can also be very hard to call 911 in remote border areas.
"When bystanders called 911 seeking emergency medical attention for the locked down protester, the callers were informed that emergency medical services would not be responding to the scene."

In Lochiel, Arizona, where people have been resisting the construction of the border wall, one brave activist locked down to construction machinery—and Border Patrol drove it away with them locked to it. "We're taking you to the middle of nowhere where no one can hear you scream."
🚨 Latest from the border wall blockade: tree sit is still up, one land defender is locked down to machinery, Border Patrol has wrapped a Mylar blanket around them and is running the truck and pumping the blanket full of exhaust to try to gas them out, potentially killing them.
This immediately brought to mind the way Border Patrol monopolizes the 911 emergency response systems for migrants, ignoring calls from people presumed to be crossing the border, then leaving them to die in the desert.

Local fire and EMS were called, Border Patrol told them to leave. BP is gassing and shooting pepper balls at people on private property, and moving the truck with the person still locked to it. Go follow tierralibre_no borders and rally.forthevalley on IG for updates.
