My novella THE RAINSEEKERS is out today from Tordotcom! A group of adventurers hope to be the first to feel the rain on Mars. “A vivid, poignant, and compassionate story about our desperate search for meaning...whether on Earth or far beyond it.” —Veronica Roth

This is a reminder that Moksha has a zero-tolerance plagiarism policy, and any author/email caught passing off another's work as their own will be permanently banned from submitting through Moksha.

Matthew Kressel
@matthewkressel.net

This includes LLM-generated works, when the author explicitly affirms that they did NOT use AI in the submission form. If an author submits work that is not their own creation without explicitly affirming so in the cover letter or submission form, they will be banned.

Solar has overtaken nuclear. A decade ago it supplied 1% of the world's power. In 2025 it met three quarters of global demand growth. Almost nobody saw it coming. I spoke to Jocelyn Timperley at BBC Future about why. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...

Facebook "privacy" An oxymoron Their entire business model is selling your private data to whomever will pay

I just finished this amazing sci-fi novella by Matthew Kressel. #RainSeekers #Mars #SciFi “The Rainseekers is a pleasant break from high-stakes sci-fi, and is ultimately something earthbound and relatable: a story about pilgrims on a journey, hoping to see a miracle.” — The Wall Street Journal

I stopped grinding myself into the ground when I saw what sold the most copies of a media tie in novel, and realized how the machinery works. Secondly, I almost had a tv show made out of a book, which would have blown sales off the roof. But since the deal fell through, the novel trickles on.

I hate Adobe. Their prices are prohibitive, especially for young folks and peope in the developing world. But I would still rather pay Adobe a monthly $$ than support this AI slop garbage shat out by some two-bit hack (not hacker) who calls himself a "coder."

I was looking for a nuanced take on the Adobe clone situation from an “is this legal” standpoint, and I think this is as good as it gets. Nice work by @plagiarismtoday.com. www.plagiarismtoday.com/2026/10/14/c...

So true. These AI companies are stealing all day, every day, millions of times per day, stealing from *us*, the creators, just so they can capture us all with inside a paywall of ever decreasing executive function and required subscription feudalism.
