implemented syntax highlighting for better code readability. Also, added keyboard shortcuts for navigating through the solution code and repositioning the window

I'm so excited to share a stealth project I've been working on: Laravel Up and Running, the audio book. People thought I was crazy to narrate a code-heavy programming book, but I think we've done an incredible job; take a listen to our sample to see! laravelupandrunning.com/audio-book

Thinking about hiring a part-time video editor. Tasks: edit 4-12 min highlight videos from daily VODs, create 1+ shorts (30-60s), and design thumbnails. Consistent work every weekday. If interested, DM! 🐘

This sentiment from @jamesclear.bsky.social feels true: "Bad things happen loudly: the injury, the flat tire, the mistake that gets you criticized. Good things happen quietly: the completed workout, the healthy meal, the ten minutes of writing. Nobody talks about the little moments that add up."

For a few years, Takeout has been the best way to spin up local development services--MySQL, ClickHouse, Minio, and more--for PHP developers. With today's release, you no longer need PHP to use Takeout! Take a look at the our writeup to learn more: tighten.com/insights/tak...

Google allows me to install a watcher on a calendar, and notifies me about changes on it (pretty cool). But why can't they send me the id of the event that changed, instead of sending a post request to my app WITH NO INFO AT ALL and now I have figure out what changed on god knows which event?

for now, when I receive the post request I'm just querying their API for changes in the last hour, and then looping through all events returned and comparing them to what I have on my db

the payload does not have the event neither the calendar id where the webhook originated, so u have to keep track of your watchers & the calendar id associated with it, as you need the calendar id to fetch events. Then, when they ping your app, u need to query the API and manually check for changes.

Created a GitHub workflow for automatically bumping composer dependencies on a side project. I usually do it manually once a week, but it's nice not having to think about it anymore πŸ™‚

I’m biased but this new homepage looks beautiful!

I've been working on a "monitor" that makes setting up Kafka consumers with laravelkafka.com even easier. No need to create commands for each consumer. Just define an array with options you'd like to customize: it spawns your consumers and makes sure they restart when there is an unexpected crash

Also, in production, you'd be able to set up only one supervisor instead of having to do it for every single consumer. Next step is to try to come up with a horizon-like dashboard πŸ™ƒ

I've heard amazing things about this course and decided to grab it. Kudos to @joshwcomeau.com for offering PPP pricing, makes it really affordable worldwide!

Want to create a culture where people feel empowered to creatively solve problems instead of just taking orders? Your people need to feel safe. This year at @laracon.au I talked about culture, psychological safety, and a whole lot more.

Are there any go-to tools out there for migrating a MySQL database to Postgres, assuming the schema is exactly the same (or, as close as it can be between the two DBs)? I've seen a few possible contenders but figured it would be easy to ask around before deep diving. Thanks!!
