Trump take salsa

Texas Public Radio@texaspublicradio.bsky.social

The 17% tariff on Mexican tomato imports, combined with bad weather in Florida and Mexico, has caused the price of salsa ingredients to spike in recent months. Read More👉 ebx.sh/FFZdl8

Are you a prude if you think murder is wrong?

Bruno Dies@brunodias.dev

Honestly maybe this is too galaxy brained a take but I think the liberal currents set freaking out about mangione is of a piece with their also regular freaking out about sex and overall prudish attitude. They both come from the same place of substituting revulsion for ethical reasoning.

This, this and this.

“Sure all those people would still be alive, but have you considered how I would have felt bad about myself for filling the little bubble on the private ballot next to the person who I find imperfect”

All you have to do to get called nasty names on here is make a joke to ppl seemingly incapable of getting them. Some by ppl who bravely turn off replies. [hint: bravely was used sarcastically here]

“Maybe those diversity trainings weren’t so bad” was heard more than one of the flight back.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered hundreds of generals to travel on short notice from around the world to hear him make a short speech on military standards and the “warrior ethos.”

This org does not get enough credit for consistently getting into the mix despite a low payroll and small market. What a run. Go Guards!

The Athletic@theathletic.com

The Detroit Tigers led the AL Central by 10 games as recently as Sept. 6. Eighteen days later, the Cleveland Guardians sit one game ahead of the Tigers in the division — and also hold the tiebreaker over Detroit.

When will this plague of “centrists” telling their tales of their open-mindedness through their contact with the common folk, in this case the Republicans at the gym for very rich ppl.

Mark Cuban@mcuban.bsky.social

I go to the same gym I’ve gone to forever. Long before Trump. Same friends I play basketball and work out with. And lots of new friends over the years. I got a lot of shit campaigning for Harris from people I wasn’t close to there and some I was. Like here, I engaged. Because I want to understand

Oh no! But MAGA has said such great things about libs!

Mark Cuban@mcuban.bsky.social

Dems aren’t going to convince non voters to vote or independents that voted for Trump to vote dem if they call them cult members and hateful. Thats counterproductive.

I think people like Mark are being a little lazy with their harsh criticism of Mamet. Mamet is probably not telling us the real reason he left the Dems and the truth is much, much worse than presented.

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

David Mamet comes off as a dope.

needs to build some ballroom

NPR@npr.org

After at least 15 years of talking about it, President Trump is building a ballroom at the White House. Work will begin this coming September, with a price tag of $200 million, the White House says.

1000% this! And with so many other issues. Also the Dems caused it and/or are solely responsible for fixing it.

What the fuck is a political party supposed to do about horny dudes being frustrated

Shout out to teachers and educators doing the hard work and a big fuck you to people who want to weigh in with their disrespectful uninformed opinions on the matter.

This narrative is called playing the results. [and not wanting to admit you judge women more harshly than men].

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

She lost because she was not a good candidate, and wasn't paying attention to Trump threading the needle of the Electoral College.

It is amazing how very smart people can go their whole lives voting and following politics and still not understand how our system works. Third parties will never work in our current system.

Mark Cuban@mcuban.bsky.social

You do realize that Elon isn't eligible to run for office ? And that you have the choice to vote for whoever you choose. Maybe there will be better candidates than the Republicans or Democrats can and have run ? a new party couldn't do much worse.

The Dems did everything they could to fight this bill but of course the new goal post is to create a shadow gov’t to make up for the damage. She did set up a one food bank so she knows how easy this would be. Easier than just voting for Dems in the first place I guess.

Kat Abughazaleh@katmabu.bsky.social

This bill is going to harm millions of Americans right now but we won’t know the true toll for years. It’s time for Democratic leaders, donors, and organizations to use their dollars to fill the gaps Trump is creating: fund clinics, stock food banks, protect communities.

Remember, you can’t be truly free unless you let the worst people threaten to rape you and call you the n-word.

Megan McArdle@mcmegan.bsky.social

I’m not upset. I’m bemused that activists thought they would be more effective by giving up a platform where they had considerable influence and self segregating on a site almost no one else reads.

This is why we are so fucked. It takes an ex-tea party conservative to tell a supposed liberal that actually Dems aren’t to blame for Trump. And OMG he blamed voters who “very serious ppl” treat as smol beans without agency or principles.

Joe Walsh@walshfreedom.bsky.social

Bullshit Bill Maher. Democrats have problems, but don’t blame Democrats for Trump’s re-election. Blame the American people. The American people knew how bad & corrupt Trump is, but they said they don’t care. Trump back in the WH is on the American people. Not Dems. www.mediaite.com/tv/bill-mahe...
