Since 2004, this community has helped make Firefox and the open internet possible. Our β€œCome Back to Firefox” campaign reunites a few early internet icons to remind people what made the internet special, and why it’s worth protecting.

Sad to hear about this closing. I know multiple people who either got their start at BioWare, or were working there still. Hopefully they all land in their feet!

with 0 polls reporting and 0% of votes counted, I am confidently calling this all a bunch of vaporous theatrical nonsense that cost us tens or perhaps hundreds of millions of dollars of public money which should have gone to the fucking hospitals

There are a lot of ways to be online, but I am convinced that this is the way we should cultivate and cherish. Being earnest and open to positivity is an active practice that enriches all of our lives.

This looks so fun. Can see it will be a lot of work for the browsers but the controls will be sick.

Customizable selects are so 2025. Now is the time for styleable multi-thumb range controls! Great work by @utilitybend.com and Open UI. The <rangegroup> element is being prototyped in Chromium by our team. Can't wait to play with it, which you can do with: brechtdr.github.io/enhanced-ran...

Awesome news! I’ve been really happy with @zed and have been hearing so many good things about Delta. Glad to finally be getting to try it for myself.

Zed@zed.dev

Delta is now in public beta. It’s a multiplayer environment for coding with agents and reviewing what they build, with every code change linked to the conversation that produced it. Anyone can download it today on macOS, Linux, and Windows: delta.dev/download

This could be huge if you’re looking to quickly build a database using your PDS to host the data. Brilliant idea!

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ ever wanted to build something without needing to configure a db, auth, file storage or a cms? it turns out you already have all four if you have a bluesky account πŸ‘‰ airspace is a typed client for it

PSA: If you’re a web developer take a few minutes to share with browsers what features you’d like them to implement next.

Interop 2027 prep is now. Want to help? 1. Go to developer-signals.rviscomi.workers.dev 2. Sign-in using GitHub 3. Find features you need 4. Click the comment icon, add your use case 5. Submit There aren't many ways to tell browsers what you need and why you need them. That's a very effective one.

Your records in spaces can now be created, edited, and deleted through PDSls just like public records!

Thrilled with the progress @tangled.org has made recently. πŸš€ I've hosted a few open source projects there. The community has been kind, and genenours with pull requests. Definitely looking to use it more in future, and appreciate how @atproto.com means I'm not locked in.

we're planning v2 of our standard.site integration in the bsky app the goal is to make the "subscribe" button work. when you tap "subscribe" on a link card, what should happen? e.g. - get notifications on bsky when new articles are published - see new articles in a feed or separate tab - more?

Love this and would love to see more transit choices in Edmonton. Cars should not be the only option.

Volunteers were out again collecting postcard messages outside of Folk Fest tonight πŸ’ͺ We loved hearing everyone’s enthusiasm and support! The bike community isn’t just advocates, it’s made up of many Edmontonians just going about their every day lives. πŸ’š

The State of Devs survey is open for participation. There's a lot of uncertainty and, frankly, occasionally I'm navigating a full-blown identity crisis. I'm very curious about whether I'm alone with these feelings and how bad the majority really feels... https://stateofdevs.com/...

Much of my career boils down to: All code is liability. Minimize it. Feedback loops are everywhere. Speed them up; do them more. We're bad at predicting the future. Avoid it. More tests. Hire smart, motivated people, then get out of their way. Find the right thing to turn off and on again.

i want to spread the word about atproto. if you’re running a podcast, i’d be happy to hop in to talk about it. i understand it decently well and can explain it without much jargon. it’s one of the most interesting developments in the last 30 years of web, and i can defend that. please dm to set up!
