As someone that strives to act ethically out of due respect for my fellow humans, I thought ethics classes were an unnecessary joke in college. Given the current state of the world, I am now convinced that we might actually need *more* of them as required classes.

We are VERY firmly in the midst of Halloween season. Why are so many retailers already fully switching over to Xmas in their holiday aisles?

This shouldn't need to be said, but please don't get your voting advice from AI. Elections are something worth researching yourself.

If you think we have a masculinity crisis now, wait until all of these insecure men try to get back off of testosterone replacement therapy in a few years

I'll be honest, I don't need to watch this to tell you the answer: it's doing a horrible job. I work outdoors and haven't been able to trust the weather forecasts all year. Correct much less than 50% of the time now. And when it's off, it's WAY off. www.nytimes.com/video/weathe...

Hey NBC, why on Earth did I just see AI-generated graphics during SNF? You ABSOLUTELY have the money to pay graphic artists instead of shoveling slop.

We're currently fighting a war and the average American's spending power is lower than it's been in almost 20 years. Naturally the president's biggest concern right now is... ... Making sure his name is on a performing arts center.

Imagine being a politician that claims to be "for the people", but then using AI to generate campaign materials instead of giving actual people jobs to create them.

After reading "107 Days" and now reading through "Regime Change": Holy fuck, the Democrats in power are some of the dumbest, most gullible marks on the planet. Trump pretends to be nice for a single conversation and they immediately think "Oh, I guess he isn't that bad. What a nice guy!"

I just saw a political ad where the attack against the Democratic candidate was that he wants to "outlaw private insurance" ..... He wants universal healthcare.... The mental gymnastics are reaching Olympic levels.

Reminder that Nicolás Maduro is still being held without being put on trial yet.... And then what happens if, after trial, he's found not guilty? .... Or the case is dismissed due to the plaintiff not having standing since the crimes did not occur in America? À la the ballroom

All of our actually healthy food is unsafe to eat due to lower food standards. But at least the ultra-processed food is "healthy" now because they're getting rid of artificial dyes.

In their eyes, COVID is/was simultaneously: not real, not a big deal, and a powerful liberal conspiracy to kill off the masses. What I'm sure is an unrelated common feature of fascism according to Umberto Eco: "The enemy is both strong and weak" www.nytimes.com/2026/09/05/h...

Now I know it's really buried in the *first sentence of the entire document*, but I would think "promote the general Welfare, […] and our Posterity" would mean providing clean water. It might not explicitly say "clean water" but that's because in 1789 their idea of "clean water" was beer.

That's a whole lot of words to say that he went to deliver friendly advice and share intelligence with his Russian counterpart. A little different than the tough-guy persona that the few previous CIA directors that visited Russia went to portray. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/27/u...

I'm just so confused by all of this "prediction market" stuff. You know it's betting, I know it's betting, THEY know it's betting... So why is it not regulated under gambling laws like literally every other form of betting. A pig with lipstick is still a pig. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/27/t...

nytimes.comPrediction Markets and States Clashed, Setting Off a Furious Political Battle (Gift Article)A legal dispute over the future of Kalshi, Polymarket and others has drawn in the Trump administration, the president’s son and nearly every state attorney general.

No doubt in my mind that they will slow-roll a decision about the ballroom until it's done. Then it'll be "well it's illegal, but it's already done so there's nothing that can be done but say 'tsk, tsk'"

Quick question. What countries does the US consider to be allies in 2026? We're actively going after the ICC now and, given other recent events, it seems like a very short list of: 1) Israel 2) ..... North Korea? (Should go without saying that if we've threatened someone, they aren't an ally)

I've seen enough videos recently of jackasses in military hardware doing jackass things to make a fair assumption that their actions probably directly of led to this crash and wildfire. Does Kid Rock have a home in the area that they were doing a low flyby on? www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...

usatoday.com2 dead after Army Apache helicopter from Fort Hood crashes in TexasTwo soldiers were killed when a Fort Hood-based Army Apache helicopter crashed near Salado, Texas, sparking a grass fire and some evacuations.

Absolutely flies in the face of the traditional Use of Force Continuum.

NEW: ICE plans to spend tens of millions of dollars on buying specialized gloves that pulse with electrical energy, which make it easier for agents to subdue people. 404 Media read the manual that says the gloves may even contribute to “sudden death.”

Remember when Republicans said that 9 months was too close to an election to nominate a Supreme Court justice? Yet less than 3 months is plenty of time for them to overhaul the entire voting system?
