We want a national oversight mechanism to ensure lessons are learned, and recommendations are acted on. Families should not have to fight the very system that is supposed to support them.

We need to do more to prevent suicide among young people and ensure families get answers. It took three years of chasing and pressure from my office for Jess to see the recommendations of the local safeguarding review, and she still has not seen the full report.

🗣️ Rural residents already pay significantly more council tax per head than their urban counterparts, despite having lower average wages. We cannot simply take models designed around large city regions and assume they will work in rural communities with smaller populations.

✉️ Last week, I delivered a cross-party letter to the Prime Minister, urging him to support funding for lobular breast cancer research. Andy Burnham supported the Horsham Lobular Moon Shot Project campaign as Manchester Mayor, so I wanted to remind him of the importance of his commitment now.
