“You crossed the wrong people, motherfucker”

What a stupid way to write opening hours. I thought it was only open for half an hour on Friday and Saturday, until I looked at other days and saw it was am and pm. It also amazes me that 24 hour time still isn’t the standard used everywhere.

Why don’t we talk more about how one of the most prestigious global culinary awards is given out by a company that makes car tyres? I know the history of it, but it’s still pretty weird, right?

I hope everyone is enjoying the lowest peak June temperates of the next FOREVER! Now to ask AI which air conditioning unit I should get shipped over from Asia.

Opponents to PR claim “it will lead to unstable coalition governments”. The only prime minister to have served a full term between two elections in over 20 years was David Cameron, between 2010 and 2015 … whilst leading a coalition government.

Carole Cadwalladr on why appointing Matt Brittin as director general could be a huge mistake for the BBC

Is it normal to start a resignation letter with four paragraphs praising yourself for what a great job you’ve done?

“Who could Labour elect as their next leader in order to accelerate their decline?”

I'm genuinely struggling to think of the question to which the answer is 'Wes Streeting'.

Ugh. Yes Starmer needs to go, but, for Labour, Wes Streeting is probably the WORST possible choice to replace him. Streeting has absolutely nothing about him that will reverse Labour’s fortunes, and will almost certainly accelerate the rate of people fleeing to the Greens. So, go for it, I guess!

People: “We want change!” Starmer: “I’ve heard what the people are saying, so I’m bringing back Gordon Brown”

Imagine being the person who came up with the love it / hate it marketing for Marmite. How it’s even lead to “Marmite” being used adjectively. That must feel good.

Amazon is trolling me with this message on an almost daily basis. How do I make it stop? Who the F even is Jeff Dunham?

Argh, it’s so fucking annoying that BBC keep switching the curling to different channels during a game. It’s especially annoying because I’m watching on iPlayer, not even an actual TV channel.

I guess, Reading Festival. Seems weird to call it a date, but then the idea of going on a date has always seemed weird to me.

This is an unapologetically sappy feel-good subject (at least, I guess, for people in a happy relationship”). So, to prepare for Valentine’s Day, what did you and your partner do for a first date? My wife and I went to tea at Huntington Gardens and walked around.

The extent to which this guy can’t cope with the reality of other people being different to him is staggering.

BREAKING: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance "People aren't more productive working from home - it's a load of nonsense” Whatever you do JUST DON’T VOTE REFORM!

I’m all for Starmer going, but who the hell would replace him? Hopefully Streeting is sullied by Mandelson associations too (as he’s the worst). Which leave Rayner? Anyone else? Miliband return? Cooper? What a mess!

Also, can people line up their “we don’t elect a prime minister” arguments, so we don’t have an election and Reform winning.

I won’t fantasise about a left wing leader. Surely they’ve made that impossible with everyone they’ve kicked out or driven away, and rules they’ve changed.

Keir Starmer: "Morgan McSweeney is an essential part of my team. He helped me change the Labour Party and win the election. Of course I have confidence in him."

If only there had been any kind of warning from history about Mandelson’s trustworthiness and honesty. If only. But no, Starmer had no reason to doubt him.

The most generous interpretation of the evidence would seem to be that when ICE agents heard he had a gun they panicked and overreacted, not realising he’d already been safely disarmed. Even given that most generous interpretation it is obvious the Trump Administration is lying about what happened.

Labour’s NEC have voted 8:1 against the possibility of winning future elections. It’s time for @zackpolanski.bsky.social and the Green Party to fill the void.
