You think staying home sends a message? It does. It tells politicians they can do whatever they want without answering to you. People bled for the right to vote. Don’t surrender that power to the very people you’re furious with. Make them answer for it. #BlueWaveIn10Days

BREAKING NEWS The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize to Navanethem “Navi” Pillay for her efforts to promote peace and international law.

If you need a cheer up, watch the Nobel Laureates receiving the call that they and their colleagues/teams have won the Nobel Prize. Brilliance rewarded is so very satisfying.

Please know that this is one of my few legitimate areas of actual, high-level professional expertise: Kicking the healthiest people off of a health insurance program will bankrupt it. Not 'could;' not 'might,' not 'probably," but absolutely will, with mathematical certainty.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Dr Oz says the Trump administration will kick more than a million people off health insurance because some of them have "never filed a claim"

This is absolutely true. My mom died at 83 this January. As executor of her estate I’ve seen how much junk she received about her money. Awful, aggressive letters about accounts she didn’t have. When alive, she believed whatever they said. It’s truly a disgrace how the elderly are targeted.

Raffi Melkonian@rmfifthcircuit.bsky.social

Random note; since my dad passed away last December, I’ve been handling all of my mom’s mail and accounts. It is incredible. How many scams are aimed at the elderly in this country, including my companies that superficially seem legitimate. Every week her mail is full of this crap.

Just a heads up that you don’t have to comment on this if you’re not steeped in Irish history. “You always own the option of having no opinion.” Marcus Aurelius

This is a horrible idea. People already don’t know how to behave at airports, so let’s add more people. Brilliant. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m up early watching the BBC’s “The Media Show.”They had a guest, Nikolas Gruhn, a software engineer who coined the term meat proxy. “Meat proxy is a new term to describe someone who acts as a human conduit for material generated by AI.” Don’t be a meat proxy!!! 🥩

#SC voters, 👇👇👇👇

Rep. Jermaine Johnson@drjljohnson.bsky.social

Y'all, I need you to hear this. A new ACLU of South Carolina analysis found we removed nearly 1.2 million voters from our rolls since 2022, net 85,571 fewer than before, and Black and Brown communities got hit hardest. Check yours at scvotes.gov before Oct 2. #NewSC #JohnsonSkardon

There are very few people who, by the force of their own personalities, drive and character can change a culture. Gloria Steinem was one of them. May her memory be a blessing.

Local SC ad for this woman is another Christian woman holding a bible and saying what a faithful woman she is! Comparing her to Ruth in the bible. So that’s how this campaign is going to go.

these people booing sound like literal sheep as Darline Graham criticizes Dr. Annie Andrews for supporting "government-run healthcare" before bragging of her parents that "if they were sick, they had to get up and go to work...my mother passed away when I was 11 and my father just over a year later"

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️

So he’s gonna bomb the bond market? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Both of them did enormous amounts of charity work and long before they met each other. British press seemed quite overtly racist to her.

The press hounded a man to his death, without checking that what they were saying was true. Yet they will never admit fault, will never change, will hound the next person in their crosshairs to their death.

I know you're not allowed to say this during the current debate, but the reason the left dominates academics, art, comedy, and music is that the right has stupid, discredited ideas, they're not funny, and dull resentment does not make for good art. No grand conspiracy required.

This is an absolute travesty. Northwestern has, probably, the 2nd best library collection for African History/Studies in the USA (behind Yale and ahead of MSU, UCLA, etc). A self-inflicted wound that is absolutely, 100% unnecessary given the massive wealth of Northwestern--north of $15 billion.

If you find yourself dooming, it's worth recalling that Trump has neither the legal nor (more importantly) the practical ability to effectively federalize & rig the midterms. But if you find yourself complacent, it's important to note he can cause a whole lot of chaos by illegally trying & failing.

Just an appreciation post for this guy. The COVID pandemic would have been far worse without Dr. Fauci's decades of experience as guidance through it.
