My job as a guy who has officially Seen Some Shit in my professional career is now to show up and say "yes yes nice workaround but have we tried not having this problem" and then showing what not having the problem looks like. I can't imagine this is popular but by god is it needed

Have been on this site for a little while but didn't really understand that I have my own folder that is transportable. Now I finally understand what happens when I connect another app to my bsky/atproto account and it makes so much sense

For whatever godforsaken reason I still _care_. The web started as a craft, and still can be. And when it is built as such, it shines. That said, it is increasingly more difficult to live in hope. I don’t blame or fault the people who exit. Unfortunately, this is the only game I know.

TIL WebKit renders SVG filters directly on the CPU. So if you use SVG filters to create effects on your page (like a squiggle effect...), it can massively slow down the responsiveness of your page. Other browsers use GPU acceleration.

I think the greatest benefit AI has given me is getting me out of the brainstorming phase when I start overthinking projects. I'd rather start building something sloppy and spend a bunch of time fixing issues later, than get stuck in my head on all the different things to consider before building.

i know it seems bleak. but people are making and sharing cool, fun, and free things on the web in 2026. you just gotta get outside the walled gardens

blog post: you need to use this HTML feature yesterday!! IT's so semantic and beautiful!! Get rid of all you custom code!! end of the post: Actually, there is no support in Firefox or Safari YET, you need to use polyfills, screen-reader support is limited, BUT just give it time πŸ™

why trouble thyself with CSS-in-JS when you could have a little walk-in-the-wilderness. a little peace-in-your-heart. why waste thy hours comparing runtime environments when you could be spending time running in the environment
