Going through posts on old private Twitter and Tumblr accounts and sorting posts into various categories: sad, horny, calling self slurs, thoughts of suicide, incomprehensible and “lessons I needed to learn multiple times.”

Realizing I depend heavily (to my detriment) on my “emergency escape buttons” when faced with intense emotional pain: getting drunk, avoidance and distraction, saying I’m going to kill myself. When I force myself to actually confront the problem, anything is possible!

Learning recently that rly bad insecure anxious attachment looks a lot like borderline except that anger is usually directed inward, not outward. This explains SO MUCH about my life, you have no idea.

It’s not so much that I’m scared of you as that I’m scared of the feelings you elicit in me. When I see you, I am terrified of losing control. It’s a constant push-pull in my head. I want you around but I’m also terrified of having you around.

Dear job recruiters, please bear in mind and take heed and consider the following: If I can't do absolutely nothing productive at all for the first hour of my work day at your job, I am NOT interested!!!

Recently I’ve quit drinking I worried everyone in my life thought I was a mean, nasty drunk They weren’t wrong of course But now I’m not drinking It is clear as crystal All my personality faults are my own And cannot be externally blamed

Keeping a little thought-releasing journal has been a massive boon for me. I can write the nastiest, meanest, pettiest, most jealous, paranoid and hateful shit imaginable and just go “glad that’s out of my system,” without ever ACTING on those thoughts

This is much more interesting as a broader social reflection. I’ve never heard of the song, but I only listen to community radio, never stream music, and do not have tiktok. 15 years ago, this would be a perfectly normal way to live. Society has changed very rapidly.

"Well I don't have a TV or a radio so it's not surprising I haven't heard the song" You live in a bubble. What you're describing is a self-curated bubble. If you haven't heard the song that's been #1 on the charts for 23 weeks, you live in a bubble and you should probably be aware of that.

Sometimes I feel as though my life is like a game of magic in which you kept a subpar hand rather than going to 6. You miss your land drop, have no good t3 play, the removal doesn’t come when you need it…you start to think “I wish I hadn’t been so afraid of going to 6.”
