Can’t listen to the next hour on LBC. I had decided after some months of switching channel at one o’clock, to give her a listen. Alas, I’ve found the subject material triggering and left, largely unexplored. As trailed the next hour will be very sad.

Back in the US after a long break in the UK, I am suffering from total sticker shock after visiting a couple of DC supermarkets. I have never seen prices like it. Inflation numbers here are going to soar & are not yet telling the full story. The difference between late May & today is staggering.

Sunday morning tv: just tried all thee magazines and had to turn them all off. People with money, congratulating each other on doing ok ok. Just in different flavours: right on, posh and in crowd are the three flavours. Dreadful.

Ironically the shutdowns temporarily brought dramatic reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. And the $600/week Unemployment boost gave many in the working class the most humane existence they'd ever experienced. Covid was an historic opportunity to demand green social democracy that the left wasted

For all those terribly self important fools re posting Ratcliffs mug: you’re helping them. The question is: are you just stupid or part of the plan. (My feed is full of your pish).

I've written to the Prime Minister ahead of his first statement later today, with a clear message: Our politics is broken and we can’t fix our country until we fix our politics.

Sad when we lose a nutter who made us all happy and get to keep the ones who don’t. Bye Tim, and thanks.

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing

Friendly reminder that collecting rainwater is illegal but building massive data centers that absolutely obliterate fresh ground water sources, contribute to droughts, and destroy wildlife is "economic progress".

Police violence. A cop give a brutal beating on the bridge between Ohio and Kentucky to young people who were protesting against Trump's policies and against the Genocide in Gaza.

Whole thread is brilliant

New aftershave in Lidl: gives you the precise aroma of a widowed policeman investigating the murder of his daughter, drawn into a wide-ranging political conspiracy involving nuclear weapons.

Cobra meeting for 4 empty ambulances that got burned and no one was injured. Many homes burned with residents having to flee for their lives, hundreds injured, no Cobra meeting. What ridiculous priorities.

Sections of the media are just absolute bullshit. They've always been a problem - but now they're literally lying and making up things that have never been said. The only way to defeat the billionaire media is to organise around them. Join us: join.greenparty.org.uk

When you watch this, and you see how both Lammy & Starmer are now doing the 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙚 of what they previously spoke so strongly about, you realise why it's so important to vote for MPs & parties that *actually* have principles.

The government has no mandate for this. Labour never mentioned in its manifesto that it planned to undermine and restrict a fundamental cornerstone of our democracy - the right to trial by jury - a move which will place us on a path toward authoritarian justice. youtu.be/x6NIiM9G5ag?...

Under a mechanism known as the Dublin Convention, the British government could previously ask fellow EU nations to take people back if they had passed through safe countries en route to the UK -that ended with Brexit & no alternative was agreed making it far more difficult to return any new arrivals

Nigel Farage is posting “We now have 200,000 reasons Reform should be in government” The 200,000 illegal migrants figure Farage is using is over several years and let’s remind ourselves how we got into this mess in the first place - BREXIT youtu.be/A6fCl-uOEVY?...

Like @mychal3ts.bsky.social writes, “The library is always here for you." That's why we're committed to being here for our libraries. This year, we're adding $31.7 million in permanent, baseline funding to our city's three library systems so they can better serve New Yorkers.

Luckily, First Past The Post ensures we have stable government, unlike the European proportional representation.

Can anyone think of another Labour leader who has been made the object of public hatred by our media? Surely this is a first. They wouldn’t just do it to all left leaning leaders.
