So, I just found @raycast.com last week and had an idea for an extension. I have a custom GPT I made to help me turn CSV files from our Amazon sales data into a better format with totals for ASINs and trimming titles. So far so good! Not quite webdev, but it’s .tsx so…? #webdev #buildinpublic

Wow, Mobile Safari is really giving me a tough time with the clipboard api. I might have to call it a night and try to fix this tomorrow...

New project I'm working on to take a break from other side projects. A menu builder web app for iOS Shortcuts! It should help make the process of creating VCARD menus a lot easier. Using Lucide icons, but will add more in the future. Building it with Astro and Tailwind. #webdev #buildinpublic

I plan on adding a tutorial for how to create VCARD menus and link to some other good resources that I’ve found on them as well. I’ll also add links to download starter Shortcuts to copy the results into. If anyone is interested in testing let me know. #Shortcuts

Today when I tried running `npm run dev` Astro couldn’t spin up a local server because some module wasn’t found… Ended up needing to delete all my node packages, clear the cache, and reinstall. Thing is, I have no idea why this happened. I didn’t make any changes.

Okay I think I may know what's happening here... My GitHub folder is in the Documents folder and stored in iCloud, and I had "Optimize Mac Storage" turned on. I turned it off and hopefully that will fix it. That was driving me crazy...

Our community deploys Astro sites just about everywhere. Whether you're on a Node server, a serverless function, or even a Cloudflare worker, I love how Resend just works. — @bholmes.dev

Wow, I know that GitHub isn't git... But today I learned that HARD... Now I just need to double down and ACTUALLY learn git... For some reason trying to add different og-image based on the page is harder than it should be. Something about getting the hash that Astro uses for images... UGH...

I was trying to get Astro to use an image in src/images as an og-image but I don’t know how to get the hash for the image path that is added when optimizing. The clunky shit it was trying ended up breaking the drop downs for the calculators… 🤪

What's with VS Code not liking @plugin? Using the Tailwind Typography plugin and saw this. Couldn't really find anything specific on this with a quick Google search... 🤔 #webdev

Making some great progress on my Garden Soil Calculator tool. This weekend I: ✅ Added a page for Garden Pots 🚀 Used Astros ClientRouter to handle transitions 👀 Tweaked the UI a bit more. 📋 Added copying results to clipboard 🪲 Various bug fixes introduced by adding features ##webdev #buildinpublic

This project is starting to push the boundaries of Co-Pilot. When trying to add in view transitions it kept trying to use Astro's depreciated <ViewTransitions /> method. When I'm done with the project I plan on going through all of the code to break everything down piece by piece. #webdev

What’s with the Bluesky algo? I don’t see much engagement anymore. I don’t want to engage with the political posts. I just want to see #webdev, #webdesign, #iosdev, and other similar creators - and hopefully have them see my stuff. Most of my feed is political, and little engagement. What gives?

It's kind of wild that something so old can be brand new to you. TIL about the <details> and <summary> elements. Feel like I should have known this a very long time ago, but legitimately don't think I've worked anywhere that made use of them before today. developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...

I love Shortcuts, but the app itself has so many bugs that it’s almost unusable with any sort of complex routines. I’ve mostly moved on to just learning more JavaScript, especially with the help of Copilot to walk me through with baby steps.

I’m fairly certain that a subset of the bugs in Shortcuts will plague Apple Intelligence (real) at launch, and despite being handed to them directly will not be resolved in time bsky.app/profile/matt...

Hey Astro peeps! I'm building a web app to calculate how much soil is needed for different sizes raised garden beds and I'm wondering how far do I need to go with components. I'm not good with anything beyond html and css so bear with me. Using GitHub Copilot but trying to learn while doing so.

Today I refactored the main file into several components since it was over 300 lines, added tabs to switch between different calculation conditions, and added animations. Not too bad for a noob! J/k… heavily relying Co-Pilot. 🤔🤣 cococalcs.jpshlk.com #webdev #webdesign #tailwind #buildinpublic
