Regarding the event, uahistory.bsky.social wrote that Konovalets "devoted his life to an independent Ukraine and was assassinated by a Soviet agent for it." Now he "will rest in the free Ukraine he fought for" after "nearly nine decades in exile." archive.ph/CQEVk

The post would garner 17 likes, including one from Jana Zikmundova, a czech nazi and former ambassador. Zikmundova would also quote the post with "#ГероямСлава ," a greeting popularized by the nazi-aligned UPA. likes -> archive.ph/VpMKN repost -> archive.ph/vsJrb

On 13 August 2026, Ukraine repatriated the remains of Yevhen Konovalets, a prominent fascist and the first leader of the OUN, with state honors. Ukrainian neo-nazis gave him a torchlight memorial the following night. How did bluesky react? Predictably.

The linked piece by Igor Sushko repeats the false claims the UPA fought the nazis and that murder of civilians was justified by banning churches and teaching in the dominant language of Poland (while ignoring that Ukraine is doing this to Russian speakers today). web.archive.org/web/20260701...
