I can solve this mystery: conservatives don’t actually believe that every job deserves comfort, dignity, and safety because they genuinely believe that society should have a slave class. They won’t say it like that, but functionally they believe that slavery makes for a better society
You know what part of it is to me?
I've worked with a lot of weak and controlling directors and producers. I was "So sensitive" and "a pain in the ass" whenever I advocated for better rehearsal conditions, fair treatment, or an end to things like racial microaggressions in a room.
One of the things I am MOST grateful for in my artistic career is when someone looks me in the eye and go: "That idea won't work" or "That's...so stupid, Jon Jon"
Learning how to manage those little rejections has made me an insanely collaborative person, open to feedback, and allowed me to grow.
Ai "Art" may improve as the technology improves, but AI artists will *never* grow. Their ideas are stagnant to begin with because they've never been challenged. Their art and videos are bad because they lack any sense of technique.
TLDR Fuck Gen AI art of any kind.

The reason art works when people bring their fullest selves to it is *because* of the clash, the conflict, and the eventual synthesis of ideas. The best artists I know are the ones who are able to manage their ego entanglement and work in a room with several other clashing ideas.
I think AI "Artists" are fucking FRAGILE as hell, because they don't know how to have their ideas and visions challenged. They've never seen the spark of their vision come to life with the help of so many others, especially those in "industries" that they decried as being "not real work."

One of the reasons people are so quick to embrace AI is partially because of the awful and toxic working conditions we allowed to propagate in creative spaces.
GenAI doesn't talk back. It doesn't ask you to treat it better. It just churns out the work for your vision and your vision alone.
GenAI is an ideal creative employee to many becuase it does not work as a thought partner, collaborator, or fellow creative.
And I hear so much about how people are like: "it's a tool that an artist uses!"
Yeah, because in your heart you wish all your collaborators were just tools for you.
A reminder that there are only about 2.8 million trans people in the US, which is less that 1% of the population.
Also please bear in mind that not all trans people begin or multiclass into Witch, so there's a mighty few pulling a LOT of work.
(And don't get me started on the right-wing trans)
I used to joke that if I got an euro every time someone asked me if I had worked on Dragon Age, I'd have enough money to buy Bioware. Ha, I wish!
Playing DA: Inquisition was a turning point in my life, it helped me find myself as an artist and I will never forget that. Pretty sure it still shows!
Y'ever go onto a full-blow tirade about the ongoing climate crisis and how Data Centres are actively worsening the world to a captive audience in a Bodega?
Just me?
EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS!
I am in the midst of recouping some finances and am trying my best to do what I can with what I have.
Please repost and share. A single repost could put me in the feed of someone who may be interested and helps promote my human made art!
"why can't America have protests like France?"
Well over here the No Kings protest marches are simultaneously decried and mocked, the most peaceful Pro-Palestine protests are labelled riots and terrorism and violently attacked, campus protesters are claimed as "paid actors", etc.
The "leadership" of the left in power are right wing corporate shill cucks who would side with their kin on the right to ensure that any violent protest would be denounced while Jan 6 insurrectionists run free.
But sorry Americans; we're too indoctrinated.
If hearing this pissed you off, then I suggest seeking out the people who are organizing and fighting back in what small ways they can. They need your help too.

The left has eaten itself with ideological purity and thus has removed its own ability to do little more than the current level of organizing. The right had accrued so much power that they gleefully flaunt their fascism and half the country embraces it until gas prices hurt them
California’s billionaires have a combined net worth of $2.4 trillion.
Under Prop 40, their net worth would fall to…just under $2.3 trillion.
What amounts to a rounding error for them would allow millions of their fellow Californians to afford healthcare.
Vote yes on Prop 40.
Was invited to play D&D as a player, and it's been so long since I got to be the Wizard.
"Spellbooks to copy for homework, independent researcher to be done, and it's not even my Birthday!"
JUDGE!
#Mtg Rules interaction question.
If I use Gogo's activated ability to Copy Graha Tia, Scion Reborn's ability, do I need do two instances of X, or is the X considered paid for the copy ability copy.
Likewise, does the once per turn mean I can't copy it at all?
Anne Bogart's words on the "eroticism" of art, regarding its attraction, repulsion, and the tension between the viewer/audience and the art have really changed the way I think about how I engage in art.
How does this piece change me? How does it challenge my beliefs? How do I grow?
maybe i'm old fashion but the coolest thing about video games is being taken to new worlds that i hadn't thought up and experiencing something exciting that the artists behind the game want to show me
So this guy is entering the bodega before me.
He stops in the doorway, holding it *ever so slightly ajar*, and so I open the door, smile and nod, and he goes, pointedly, "you're welcome" as if to instruct me to say "thank you".
People really wanna be thanked for doing less than the bare minimum.
