My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

I'm certainly not the only person who got some kind of jumpstart in wanting to make games from Bioware games, this is just such a profound loss. The teams deserve so much more than this industry that will decimate everything in search of infinite profits forever.

I was at BioWare over 12 years. It's where I got started writing games. I met and worked alongside wonderful people. Kind, talented, passionate. I learned a lot. I helped create some amazing stories that I'm glad made it out into the world. The people and the stories are what I cherish most.
