With all the Alberta unofficial referendum results in, a 🧵 of some findings. Qs 1-5 all prevailed narrowly, but Q2-4 had slightly more NO ridings than yes. Q1: 48 ridings yes, 39 ridings no Q2: 42y 45n Q3: 43y 44n Q4: 42y 45n Q5: 61y 26n Q6: 33y 54n Q7: 35y 52n Q8: 27y 60n Q9: 31y 56n

Over my 60 years in and around politics, I’ve heard a lot of people tell me they “don’t do politics.” Here’s my response.

Too many people seem to be all worked up about bright colours, flags & letting other people just be who they want to be these days…

Local woman wakes up, thanks 76% of Alberta for not being fucko buckos but reminds us that as we get the results from the rest of the 9 questions, this province still has a long way to go developing critical thinking skills and unlearning systemic racism, makes oatmeal.

The Premier fails to publicly face & address the province once the results began to show overwhelming support to remain in Canada. Opts instead to issue a simple statement to say “talk to you later tomorrow evening”. Curious to see how she spins this and if she feels pressure to resign…

What does this remain/separatism polling look like if you display by electoral district (population) instead of by land mass? It shows significantly less visual support for separatism in Alberta than if the ED boundaries map is used.
