Metrics are only a small part of our experience and perception of speed I'm glad that together, we’re finding ways to improve the other aspects day by day (join us at chat.npmx.dev 🚀)

Did you know that @npmx.dev serves 50 million requests a month, and 300+ contributors carry its ideas out into other projects? @alexdln.com and @willow.sh split "Beyond the fast lane" between how a page feels and the tooling under it @viteconf.org 2026, Thu 15 Oct (TODAY) at 2pm UTC. Free & online

I've been helping out @43081j.com on github.com/43081j/tangl..., and wanted a way to prioritize what to work on. I had an assumption that repos on Tangled, who have GH workflows but not yet Tangled workflows would be great candidates. So I did a quick script that goes through repos on Tangled...

github.comGitHub - 43081j/tangleflow: Convert GitHub actions workflows to tangled pipelines and vice versa.Convert GitHub actions workflows to tangled pipelines and vice versa. - 43081j/tangleflow

and finds ones w. GH workflows but no Tangled workflows. Runs tangleflow on the .github folder, stores errors + repos/workflows that convert fine. So I can list and rank what tangleflow doesn't yet support and have a better understanding of where to get most impact

Just wrapped up 3 days of bike packing in the mountains, most of it in between 1800-2300 meters of altitude, and lots of it on technical hiking trails. I can really recommend the route if anyone’s interested (starts in in Scuol CH and ends in Splügen CH, crosses over Italy twice).

Brought my sons along to the @zurichjs.com meetup tonight, they got some pizza, read some books and played a bit on the switch, and I was able to enjoy some of the talks. And they even got to bed at a decent time. I'm considering it a success!

.. whenever there was a joke and the crowd laughed, my 5-year old joined in with a loud laugh too. As if he got the joke, or even understood english.

Started setting up a starter pack for this, but how the heck do you remove yourself from the pack (damn you disabled checkbox that doesn't tell me why you're disabled)? Very happy to take suggestions for people btw go.bsky.app/AF7ELuY

I’m missing this as well, anyone has some recommendations?

Back in Denmark for a few weeks to see family, didn’t expect to see a (small, 5-6m) basking shark just off the coast. But there it is. Nature is amazing.

I’m missing this as well, anyone has some recommendations?

I'm still learning the ropes of bluesky after a nice and warm onboarding from @jensroemer.com , and I'd love to see some test automation, CI/CD, QA and SDET content in my feed! If you are working in this field or know someone, I'm happy to give a follow ⭐

turns out that sharing a Deutsche Bahn train wagon with 30 half-drunk football fans is not the best way to find programming flow

James is doing amazing work for the JS ecosystem!

this year i've carved a big chunk of my time out to officially work on OSS. if you like what I do, or use the things I work on, sponsorships go a long way. these help me keep the balance I have, and allow me to dedicate a lot more time to open source. thank you to those who already sponsor me 💙

Got asked by a neighbor if I could help his son out with a few issues he has with an app he's vibe-coded. I know next to nothing about app development, and besides if the agent cannot fix the errors then it would take me ages. So I counter-offered more general advice on the field instead, and now ..

.. I suddenly feel a lot of pressure on my shoulders. I know what some of the advice I would give is, but at the same time.. Like I barely know what to do myself (not entirely true, but this is how it feels some days).

I'm rewatching the old star wars episodes with my sons, and my god all the special edition changes/additions are more awful than I remember..

Really enjoying the Storybook/Vitest integration and the accessibility addon. It's friction at its best; easily detect an issue, serve you a direct link to the documentation about the rule so you learn something as a developer + the details you need to go fix it immediately 👏

So excited and proud about this. We are working really hard behind the scenes on making the conference a great experience. Early bird tickets are still available. And please apply to speak! We aim to have a diverse speaker lineup and CFP is still open until April 1st!

ZurichJS@zurichjs.com

We’re excited to welcome @vercel.com as our very first conference sponsor! They’re the team behind some of the biggest names in the ecosystem, with not only @nextjs.org, but also @svelte.dev and @nuxt.com. We're incredibly proud to have their support for our community conference: conf.zurichjs.com

Had the chance to meet up with Sam & give early feedback on this wonderful post. He approaches his writing with what I would call a UX mindset, and it's pretty damn inspiring to see. I'm not gonna reach the same level of quality in my writing, and that's fine, but it's cool to see how far one can go

Sam Rose@samwho.dev

I spent 2 months learning about quantization and am extremely proud of the post I've written about it. I think these are some of the nicest visuals I've ever made, and I love how this compression technique invented in 1898 is being used on the bleeding edge in 2026. ngrok.com/blog/quantiz...

If you haven't yet had the chance to look over the shoulder of someone using your [insert thing you created/wrote here], then you're in for an eye-opener. Observe, ask clarifying questions, try to understand. It's simple, and it's the greatest thing.

.. interacting much. I’ve made a habit of being more active on Bluesky, because I want the platform and protocol to succeed. And it’s paying off in more ways than I could’ve imagined. So much awesome stuff going on these days, so many good people.

In all seriousness, from my experience it’s normal that feature-complete frontend’s will be considered “done”, and dedicated frontend resources are moved elsewhere permanently. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the case here. In which case the fault is on mgmt, not engineering.

Jens Rømer@jensroemer.com

Beat me to it 😅 poor backender being forced to do frontend is my guess.
