Keep in mind the US dropped more bombs on Korea than used in all of World War II. They slaughtered more than one in five Koreans. Ordered death squads to exterminate whole communities if a single communist was suspected. And ever since our own veterans have fought for recognition of our crimes.

"A Face In The Crowd" blew my mind to watch! Grew up with the Andy Griffith Show, and watching Matlock with my grandfather. So to see him play this uncannily on-point, sleazy, duplicitous villain is WILD. Amazing breadth in his acting chops! The film is intensely, uncomfortably relevant too.

At my last job, we had interns. I was 30 and they were 22 and just finishing their bachelors and I felt like I was babysitting. I once had to tell one not to put binders all over the floor because it was a tripping hazard and he laughed at me and I had to say "No, it's an OSHA violation. Stop."

Sweet Jesus. I'm about the same age now and cannot imagine *wanting* to date someone that young. And if I had such intense loser energy as to be unappealing to women my own age? I would take that to the grave with me.

Same thinking goes into business as politics. Wonder why all the big box stores that should be competing end up near eachother? Because they figure setting up shop next to their competitor would get them all the customers on one side still, but edge on the pool of customers the other shop draws in.

The thing with choosing the lesser of two evils is that it incentivizes the "good" side to be only slightly less evil then the "evil" side. Gotta reward being good, not just less evil.

The US also claims it attacked Venezuela because of ?????? human rights. But there the Americans are, bragging about how they did it to steal endless billions in wealth from the Venezuelan people.

The US isn't even bothering to come up with excuses first. They signal their intentions to do evil, then later cook up some half baked reasoning for the press. It's beyond pathetic that the press runs with it.

handsy grandparents should learn to be more resilient to being told no, how about that

My abuser, a close family member, would force gratuitous hugs and kisses on me in front of others. And they'd all laugh at my discomfort and think it was so cute. This taught me as a little child to accept sexual abuse in silence. Because nobody cares if I'm touched against my will.

Demanding that children get used to being touched against their will by relatives is heinous. The vast majority of abuse is within families! You're teaching children to be silent and accept sexual abuse.
