What he's trying to do here, see, is piss off as many people in Denver as possible so they aren't as upset when he leaves next summer.

"I'm not used to the fans booing their own team [...] I've never heard that. I mean, probably they are. But I think they are not real fans." At Y! Sports: After another ugly outing, Nikola Jokić again called for disgruntled Denverites to pipe down. tinyurl.com/yavf928u

A real franchise-altering night for Utah; I don't think one can completely self-combust over any individual player or coaching performance. But Jazz fans are doing their best to be real repulsive right now

One of the very strongest carryovers from college, statistically, is 3P rate and how often a guy gets up threes Darryn Peterson is terrified of shooting threes right now and it's just the biggest mysteries facing the offense right now (on cue he FINALLY attempts a pull up and nails it)

Well I watched the first half on delay and can now express how Extremely Ass It is to have Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson out for what both appear to be long-term injuries Meanwhile Will Hardy is benching Darryn Peterson in favor of a Collier/Green/Okogie/Bailey/Bamba lineup, so that's cool

Love to see Houston fans earnestly suggesting Oscar Tshiebwe as a viable option. (if Houston's brain trust is as frustrated as this Rockets writer, the Jazz will very happily reunite Adams with JJJ and deal with his availability issues just fine)

Harrison Faigen@faignews.bsky.social

“What’s being suggested here is that getting Tshiebwe on the floor is a way for the Rockets to preserve that identity for the next half-decade. He may not play well, but at least then the team would know.” www.thedreamshake.com/rockets-anal...

Remember that time a week ago when the Bucks moved their home opener to accommodate the Brewers?

Valkyries vs Dream Game 6 will be at 12:30pm eastern at State Farm Arena, according to ESPN

"Water down the product, they'll still watch that garbage anyways" has been the NBA's approach to the overall product the past ten seasons And while sickos like me may not leave, the average person will find other uses for entertainment dollars

The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more: www.nytimes.com/athletic/772...

Interesting comment from a neutral observer fello Sicko about the Jazz.

Luka ends up with the first 50 spot of the year and the Lakers win. I’m still thrown by Utah’s inexplicable decision to leave a red hot and rested Ace on the bench during most of that comeback. 15 and 9 in the first, 17-12 for the game. Play the hot hand, guys!

Utah Jazz lose 132-123 but that was the best game I've seen them play all season. Lots of encouraging stuff to take away and they executed the gameplan really well for huge chunks.

And then Utah lets LAL storm back with 45 points of their own, a huge huge chunk of it with Kessler on the bench. In a reverse of what you'd think, Utah has a preposterous 52% Offensive Rebound % and LAL with just 22.7% But LAL is getting free throws every other shot attempt and it's killing Utah

Utah blisters the Luka/Reaves/Kessler lineup for 47 in the first quarter Lucky 3 by Lauri at the end, but the offense really figured out how to abuse the Kessler-centric defense

In one of the most NononononononononoNONONONO NOOOOO plays, Isaiah Collier gets the ball on a 2 on 2 fast break with nobody in front of him and decides a pull up three is his best option. (he is not the player allowed to do that)

Kevon Looney doesn't even really belong in the NBA anymore except as a bit 4th big (maybe) So he really needs to be attacked every second he's on the floor

I went to bed at 8pm last night because a week of late night work and NBA games means I had to catch up somehow Audibly laughed when I saw that the Nuggets pulled out a win and they appear to have drafted a Random Dude Who Is Good (which is what they've desperately needed, and failed, to do)

More necessary reading from Dan on all things about the Jazz win. These early season notes are so important, especially since we are all trying to see what this Jazz team is actually good at.

I swear I won't do this after every game, but since I did a "random thoughts" notebook after the loss, felt like I should do the same after Utah's clutch W over NOP. JJJ's big fourth, Key's two-way play, Hayes' energy, and real stuff from the kiddos: www.saltcityhoops.com/posts/more-r...

Of course it doesn't happen until a season that will likely not matter at all, but Draymond Green finally got called for an illegal screen in crunch time I cannot believe Steve Kerr made it worse by drawing a technical.

The Pelicans were rolling out mostly unserious lineups the whole game (partly by necessity, only partly), so I don't feel great about Utah being unable to capitalize on much of it

James Capers calls Jaxson Hayes for a tech for a MILD rim hang after a dunk Unless he was warned before, that's a bullshit tech! Just like mild taunts in football leading to 15 yarders.

Utah in the bonus with 9 minutes left in the 4th Would like them to start sending Lauri around a bunch of screens; he'll draw fouls Somewhat on cue, Brice Sensabaugh draws a foul coming around a Lauri screen

Ace Bailey has given up several great looks from the Pelicans to start this game. Almost ebiscersting his entire defensive progress from last game in one quarter

Please excuse the weird video format/music, but @n1ck_da_quick did a great clip of every time Darryn Peterson passed up an obvious pull-up/spot-up three opportunity These HAVE to go up

[Utah] Jazz Man Mark@jazzmanmark.com

Where has the threat of Darryn Peterson's pull-up gone?

Some really interesting insights from Dan, who sees the game way better than pretty much anyone else who is mewing on the internet

After Utah lost by 20 in Memphis, I had a lot of thoughts. Here's a notebook-style posts with some random observations, starting with why my overall opinion about the '26-27 Jazz didn't change too much in the last 30 hours. www.saltcityhoops.com/posts/random...

LNN: The Denver Nuggets season opener started well, but the Thunder overwhelmed Denver with defense in the second half. Oh, and there's an injury already.
