Hands up who still thinks the ANZUS treaty and AUKUS are worth even 5/8s of fanny all....

Breaking: Trump announces the US will now be siding with North Korea and Kim Jong Un instead of the democratic South Korea. “Based on my very good relationship with Kim Jong Un, of North Korea...”

Musing on the ON monoculturalism push and I think it's a clever "positive" strategy...it's not against anything-not AGAINST immigration; not AGAINST Muslims; not AGAINST non English speakers...it's a positive...it's "for" something...

It's kinda upside down that, as we steam towards the middle of the 21st century, the nation is highly agitated about sharks being sharks but not about human shit still being pumped into the sea...

ABC Melb news tonight *Typhoon Ragasa brings hurricane force winds (what a surprise) *Australia's 4 billion dollar superannuation industry (4 trillion dollars actually) Our taxes at work at the national broadcaster

ABC Radio News this morning with a report of a suburban house fire in Brisbane's east. House partially damaged and no one injured. There are almost 20k house fires annually. How did this one make the "national" news? No mention that the owner was "the voice" of Big Brother...our tax $$ at work.

Good English friends owned and operated an inn in Woodstock Vt for 8 years.. Doug (real name withheld to protect the guilty) liked to play up his English eccentricity eg: chopping firewood/shovelling snow in a yellow tartan "Rupert The Bear" suit and a bowler hat.

there were often options on the breakfast menu the names of which mostly (but not always) amused their American guests...the full English was epic, a very large plate of eggs, bacon, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages and lumps of sourdough toast.

For the less adventurous was quail eggs with thin slices of toast The former was on the menu as "The Fat Bastard" The latter as "The Skinny Bitch" Dunno why this came to mind...but I thought I'd share.

I've plucked this post out of my feed because I think more people need to be aware of it. One of the greatest stitch-ups in our democracy succeeded in replacing independent Zoe Daniel with "a piece of work" known as Liberal Tim Wilson. Phenomenal forces & money arraigned against Zoe Daniel.

www.smh.com.au/national/cat... Tim Udorovic is chief of staff of the MACS, the organisation which wrote to school parents in Goldstein. He previously worked as chief of staff to Tim Wilson, the former Liberal MP for Goldstein who is trying to win back his old seat from Daniel.

My main points were nuclear power is too slow to help with carbon targets and too expensive to help get bills down and a terribly dangerous legacy to leave (the toxic waste)…we have faster, cheaper and cleaner choices – they’re called the wind and the sun... 2/2

Driving on a very rough track towards Clifton Beach near the 12 Apostles in SW Victoria...came around a corner and about a dozen wedge tailed eagles rose up off a wallaby carcass...couldn't get my camera out quickly enough...only got this one bird who refused to move off his gate.
