Today in @minnesotareformer.com: the story of Orbin Mauricio Henriquez Serrano, whose violent arrest by Border Patrol agents at a St. Paul Speedway went viral in the early weeks of Operation Metro Surge. You may have seen the video of him losing consciousness — and his breath seeming to stop.

It still haunts him. • Minnesota ReformerThe morning of Jan. 11 began for Orbin Mauricio Henriquez Serrano with an ominous warning: The gas light on his Jeep Cherokee was glowing yellow on the dashboard. Ye have lost thy pass-word? Ye oath-sworn secret by father and father-upon? And remember not ye his Mother's Mother's name? And in what shallow midden, what rotten hollow did thy Mother's womb spit thee forth?

Light rail tracks over 35W and the colorful Riverside Plaza near Downtown Minneapolis. Have always loved this spot!

I have to read these “court stopped declining to block order to halt stopping and blocking“ at least three times.

Each of them slinks from the podium with their heads hanging low.

The infernal, glowing rectangles in everyone’s pocket gave us Trump, but now they’re saving us from him.

Trump's white nationalist aides are churning out vile videos glorifying migrant suffering. But Trump-MAGA are *losing* the online culture wars over deportations, because the humane side is info-warring better. Check out @paulwaldman.bsky.social and me on this: newrepublic.com/article/2038...

I hate that AI has made me approach cute animal videos with an air of suspicion. I resent having to harden my heart to the possibility of an unlikely friendship between a very large dog and a very small one

The last time I saw John Woo’s THE KILLER was on laserdisc decades ago. Seeing it today in HD reveals stunning details, like Danny Lee’s clean-cut cop having a comically overlong mole hair on his jawline.

Sure, I could have put my boxed copy of Creepy Castle on eBay and got a couple hundred dollars for it. But I wouldn’t have gotten this, which is priceless.

I updated my PFP everywhere because my old picture was taken five years ago. The new one is fine, but there’s no getting around it: I look exactly like what I am, a dude in his 50s. I can’t believe I’m old.

Like every business, Panic has a curated, themed playlist that plays in our lobby, emanating office-parkily from a weird rock speaker. The vibe goal? 80's-corporate, EPCOT center, inspirational slideshow of Apple II quarterly results, slight unease/discomfort, and personal computer optimism.

Disappointed by the adoption rate of prefers-color-scheme by major sites. Too many of them still default to light mode and don’t use this media query. It’s been six years since it was widely adopted by most browser vendors! Harumph.

There is something astoundingly perverse is trying to use the language of workers' rights and class solidarity to defend a system that is designed and promoted by the managerial class to replace them.

An old friend from my grade-school days tried to rope me into an MLM scheme about 25 years ago. Today he’s a Trump supporter. The writing was on the wall.
