This sign makes me feel personally victimised

Ptaszki ćwierkają, wiatr szumi - a tu nagle Balice

Another shot of the hummingbird hawk-moth (fruczak gołąbek, Taubenschwänzchen). "Mom, I want a hummingbird" - hummingbird at home

As I prepare for another early morning #BI393 Biostatistics lecture, came across this deep dive into the history (and errors ?!?) in the well-known "mtcars" dataset! #rstats jengianoulis.substack.com/p/secrets-of...

"Stop going to bat for Elon." I literally have a book about how his Mars ideas are unworkable. It took years! I just don't understand this thread of thought were you see a capability and say it isn't real. I've seen people comparing Starship to the DC-X to prove nothing new is happening.

(I finally re-did it in #typst, though)

OK I understand but. The column name was not in the kindly provided data dictionary and read "IdPrel". I thought "preliminary ID"? Turns out the data is from Quebec and it was actually ID prélèvement - sample ID... Seems obvious in hindsight. Also, vcode was not visit code but code volet. *sigh*

Hey #birders and #bird lovers from EU! Half of the new Euro banknotes designs are with birds :-D and you can vote on your favorite: ecb.europa.eu (the screenshots are from different designs, that's why they don't match)

#BirdOfTheDay theme is #Gulls, so here is a winter plumage black headed gull (mewa śmieszka, Chroicocephalus ridibundus) from Kołobrzeg

A longhorn beetle for your #MacroMonday - I think it is a spotted longhorn (baldurek pstrokaty, Rutpela maculata) #insects (posted with zeens.app)

Barn swallow (dymówka, Hirundo rustica) sunbathing for the #SummerLovin #BirdOfTheDay theme #birds

we need LLM regulation, we need open weights, we need to treat LLMs as a public infrastructure. One of the minor reasons for that is that guys like this one say that this would be "AI communism" leading to "dystopian hellscape".

More bug fixes on zeens.app Thanks @c-elegans.eurosky.social , @january3.github.io for the reports: Fixed: hashtag breaking when using '&', like button on feed, when adding a carousel post with multiple photos to collection it only would show the first one - all are fixed. Map issue - WIP

Tak. Jeśli nie był u Was jeszcze #MaskonurNaDziś, to właśnie ląduje.

OMG, what a stunning shot

I friend told me a joke about Homer but it was all Greek to me

That is exactly what you should always remember when in a dream so your changes will not get lost

For todays #BirdOfTheDay theme, #Corvidae, I have this hooded crow - I watched it play with a bit of plastic for I think a quarter of an hour or so. It was definitely a playful behavior, it kept throwing and catching the clean plastic. #Birds
