A sad day. One More Thing was the continuation of the spirit of AltConf Big loss for the WWDC community

One More Thing Conference@omt-conf.bsky.social

One More Thing will not be happening this year or in future years. One More Thing and the LLC that ran it are now closed / dissolved and will not be returning. We wish you an incredible #WWDC26!

“GCD is still here and you should not be afraid to use it” I’ve been a (cautious) proponent of using stateless actors for file system access It works reasonably well. But could lull devs into a false sense of security i.e. adding an async call could inadvertently break the intended isolation

Matt Massicotte@massicotte.org

Recently, I was asked interesting question. If the purpose of an actor is to protect mutable state, is a stateless actor pointless? It is definitely something to look at closely, but there are some uses that can make sense. www.massicotte.org/stateless-ac...

Today we are launching a new intitative of Stand With Minnesota—KeepMNHoused.com, a rent-relief campaign backed with a $1.5 matching fund from the Wilson Foundation. Thousands of MN families are at risk of eviction because of the ICE occupation’s lasting impacts. We can keep them housed.

I was "pulled over" by two young men impersonating police officers last night. This happened while driving on Ford parkway in St. Paul, around 10:40 Thursday night In the age of ICE this can not be tolerated. They may have taken more liberties with someone from a vulnerable community

I did not engage and started to pull ahead to leave, they pulled the pickup along side me. Multiple times. And repeated their harassment. There was a parked car ahead which would have prevented me from accelerating quickly to leave.

They were clearly trying to impersonate police officers. "We're on a ride along". After 3-4 attempts I was able to merge back into the road. They then turned to go E on Ford Parkway.

Two young men (teens or early 20's) pulled me over and tried to convince me they were police officers I was driving West on Ford Parkway when an Orange Pickup aggressively tailgated me and blinked their lights. They appeared to be simulating a police interaction.

I pull over to let them pass. Instead them pulled along side me I rolled my window down to see what they wanted. The driver started yelling at me "You swerved when making U Turn" (I was driving straight from the ice rink on Snelling) "You're drunk"

The number of Mac apps I use daily has exploded over the past year Gone are the days of Slack, Zoom, and a billion browser tabs There's huge potential for more integration with native features. But please stop high-jacking global keyboard shortcuts. We use those.
