i said to my friends, "The Thing would go hard as a point-and-click survival horror game" and it turns out. there really was one, released in 2002 (though not point-and click) and they even got John Carpenter to play an NPC(!!)

PSA for anyone falling for the clickbait headline: 1. it'll only affect PUBLIC /DISCOVERABLE/ servers. Not just normal public servers 2. it'll only affect NEW messages, not old ones 3. it's trying to address "everything lives in discord and not in public forum/wikis"

PSA on how to turn off that feature since I haven't seen anyone post it: User Settings > Data & Privacy > Channel Messages then turn it off

NEW: I spoke with current and former EA employees to understand how the latest layoff round played out and the realities of daily life at the U.S. publisher. The short version? EA is controlled by an executive class that "cannot fail, only be failed." Workers, then, will always pay the price.

My Naruto Shadow Rising hot take is that the Gojo Girlies are about to see the resurrection of women thirsting for Kakashi, and realize that there are levels to this game.

this is the funniest way to find out that the discounted hard copy of Sam and Max Season 1 for The Wii that kicked off a wierd teens love of Steve Purcell, Sam and Max, and Adventures Games existed because, basically, a bunch of fans went 'port this weirdo game please'.

Skunkape@skunkapegames.com

Finally — two years after our cheeky blog post went viral — Sam & Max Season One came to Wii as a retail product, courtesy of publisher The Adventure Company. (Disclaimer: We can’t remember if this ad actually ran or if it’s a concept that wasn’t approved.)

Not only an incredible talent, but a rare talent who also thought it was funny to just voice random memes every once in a while

R.I.P. to Eric Bauza Out of all the actors who voiced the rabbit, you were the one who came the closest to Mel's original voice. You should've been around for 40 more years to voice him.

thanks to the magic of (checks notes) lyrics writing, i think i've come to an understanding of how Izzie interacts with their donor's memories (since they can't follow Envoy rules i gotta make up my own)

they can't Memory Recall, at least, not actively; they have to be asleep and dreaming, to counteract the huge energy drain coming from a function not intended for their hardware

artists! ICYMI: if you've tagged your art, you can make slightly more organized galleries in case your media tab is a mess (like mine). this was possible before, but now it's easier to link to with bsky's new buttons! you can get the link by clicking a tag, and then "see # posts by user"
