Shadow of the Colossus 21st Anniversary. I've only known this game for around 5 years, but it still feels nostalgic thinking about it. The 'wander' in my profile name is (kinda) from the game protagonist. It's nice having some peak art to look up to (even though I'm still far from it).

Game 23/26: Shadow of the Colossus (PS3) Slightly strange to go back to this, when I completed the PS4 remake only a short while ago, but it still felt like time well-spent: The older version is a colder, lonelier experience, and makes the depths of Wander‘s obsession even more palpable.

ICO Trivia #3: As first uncovered by dark0ssx in a YouTube video now 15 years old: Activating the 'Skeleton' feature of ICO's Debug Menu reveals a developer in-joke. An invisible wireframe office fan was placed in each map to help display the direction and speed of the wind. youtu.be/Sf0vlvAhe_s&...

Shadow of the Colossus. I was torn between wanting to work with computers or be a storyteller, and it was the game that made me realize I could do both.

This week has been beyond difficult for the games industry, so we want to use this weeks #QuestionsWithCauseway to reflect on how impactful games are. So, which game or franchise made you want to be a developer?

I haven't played Shadow of the Colossus in 4+ years but I still have dreams about it pretty often That game really captivates my imagination with the mysteriously empty world, that's always the thing that my dreams about it emphasise

#ICO-decomp status: MATCHED TOTAL SIZE %: 1.73% MATCHED TOTAL FILES %: 13.46% MATCHED NON-SDK SIZE %: 1.96% MATCHED NON-SDK FILES %: 25.00% I've been working from smallest file up to largest file, hence why the SIZE % values are *so* low compared to the FILES % values.

This art is already incredible, but it also directly parallels the Tribune's earlier Zelda cover, done by the same artist. bsky.app/profile/game...

What I was up to in #AnimalCrossing Wild World on #NintendoDS in December 2005: #ICO outfit, street art of The Prince from #Katamari, and lots of nerdy custom pattern designs

All the illustrations were reprinted for ICO's PS3 remaster. Globally, the remaster was always packaged as a collection with Shadow of the Colossus, but in Japan, you could buy ICO's remaster in isolation, and it had the same manual contents. Pictures originally taken by @pixelhunted.bsky.social

I love these. It's always such a shame though that for so many games we don't tend to have the art in great quality :(

there is a kind of weird masochistic thing I love with story telling when something has a thought-through history and a major thing has happened with evidence all over the place, but you are never told outright. feeling like narrative clarity is at your finger tips but never being able to reach it
