AOTW Diary: Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider pretty game but what do you mean this isnt wile e coyote. who the hell is ralph. easiest character to memory hole in existence

AOTW Diary: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Special kinda game that turns your controller into a hellraiser puzzle cube as you're trying to figure out how to make your guy say "wait here". Sidenote: can you believe these fuckin people

AOTW Diary: Daisy's Crazy Adventure At first I kinda rolled my eyes when mario swept the vote, but I ended up getting some value outta just how bog-standard of a smw hack it was. Music from several different composers, kinda-jank new blocks, mario maker level difficulty, it plays all the hits.

It's full of dumb inside jokes since it was made for our little TTT group, was real fun to make. As many upsides as working with source has, Hammer really is as bad as they say. If I make another one it won't be as detailed.

When I started writing little weekly blurbs about retro achievements I didn't expect it to become, like, the overwhelming majority of my posts lol. What can I say, I like throwing benign opinions out into the void. Like dis:

AOTW Diary: Mega Man Battle Network 2 The combat is awesome. The art is awesome. I love this game's depiction of the internet. But holy shit the amount of inane bullshit and running around you have to do to progress the story is unbelievable. Just fuckin miserable

excited for when the game awards orchestra plays the big walk theme

Big Walk and Endacopia have been fighting in my head for GOTY since the week(ish) they came out together. It might just have to be a joint victory. Big Walk is basically The Witness, a bad game I love, but unequivocally great. It also maybe being the best co-op game ever made is just a bonus.

I might have to write something on my stupid little blog about how Big Walk's phenomenal ending gets across an idea The Witness struggled to make poignant throughout its entire runtime.

Absolutely loved Big Walk. Didn't expect it to feel like a co-op version of The Witness with its simple puzzle rules, neat twists and rich atmosphere, though there's plenty goofy hijinx in between too. Co-op puzzle games are so satisfying when done right. Probably my GOTY.

AOTW Diary: Super Mario RPG Love how active the cutscenes are with their sprite choreography(?) despite how few sprites each character actually gets. Like how many SNES cartridges would Kris Deltarune take up alone

AOTW Diary: Cave Story Pretty fun. It's kinda crazy to me thinking about how much of a legacy this game has considering how quaint it is. It's great no doubt, but maybe I just never played far enough into it to, like, GET it.

AOTW Diary: Elite Beat Agents My first swap, albeit free. This game tricks you into thinking shit's gonna be easy, only for Canned Heat by Jamiroquai to completely knock you on your ass, and I kinda love it for that.

AOTW Diary: Enter the Matrix This game controls like fuck Also the opening level reminded me of the chase sections from Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for some reason. But it's green instead of blue.

AOTW Diary: Clock Tower 3 I wonder if there are any games out there trying to recapture the extremely specific look of PS2 survival horror. Like, super high contrast photo textures with washed out colors and lighting, y'know

AOTW Diary: Wild Guns / LEGO Indiana Jones 2 Wild Guns rules, no notes. I really like that they decided to add giant boss monsters to the end of all 3 original Indiana Jones movies, like platformers having a big guy at the end you have to hit 3 times is some kind of government mandate

AOTW Diary: Metal Arms: Glitch in the System One of those games where it's got shovelware stank on the outside, but actually playing it it's obvious the devs were swinging for the fences. The Halo Banshee is just in this game. Also the voice cast is crazy.
