But for me Koenig's defining role was as Alfred Bester in #Babylon5. He was perfect for it, and had a lot of fun balancing the cruel with the sardonic. The charming, paternalistic, long-suffering face of fascism.

Today we went with the kids to see the actual Bayeux Tapestry. Amazing to see all the quirky details up close and personal. My wife has been wanting to see it pretty much her whole life, owns all the books, and even stitched her own section of it, so this was a big deal. Lovely. #BayeuxTapestry

I paid special attention to "her' bit, which is very near the end. No Tardis in the original sadly.

My wife actually stitched a full size section of the #BayeuxTapestry using the proper stitching techniques, with added Tardis. She exhibited it at the Dublin Worldcon and it's currently on our wall! #DoctorWho

A ghoulishly decorated metal plaque inlaid with copper, gold and the alloy shakudō. The engraved scene brings to life the Japanese fairy story in which a mean old woman cuts the tongue of a tiny sparrow who has eaten her rice starch.

So far an unplanned taxi, several cancellations, an hour's delay, a different train (itself running 100 mins late), and a bus replacement service to the 'wrong' station for onward travel. Zen mode holding steady.

And we finish with Professor Esther MacCallum Stewart, intent on constructing a Target out of Targets via the medium of Choose Your Own Adventure and also announcing her Black Archive on The Giggle. Even when running events, James Goss loves some format breaking. #TargetBookDay

Some kickass Gil Kane pencil pages from an unpublished Star Wars comic. The sense of dramatic scale that Kane could create was perfect for SW. #comics #GilKane

I got a pet stroller for the kittens. It's just day one, I need to get them comfortable and used to it before I start to venture out beyond the backyard. But they actually love it. Bastian especially, he just did not want to get out. #Cats

There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, “we will survive” Let’s do that some more

South Terrace, Cork city centre: polypody, heart's tongue and maidenhair spleenwort ferns spring from a damp old brick wall. If your eyes are open to it, we're surrounded by the relics of our lost natural rainforest heritage.

The proportion of our energy that comes from renewables, awareness of the climate crisis, and conservation have made all great strides and had notable successes in the face of huge challenges and pushback. Even in moments when it feels like we're backsliding we've come a long way from the baseline.
