At the Little Italy festival in Bloomfield, Pittsburgh and the sky turned black on a dime. Thunder, lightning, DUMPING rain. We dashed into the nearest restaurant (Italian) and then Vito from The Sopranos walked in. Of course.

Scrubbin' Trubble - a co-operative turn-based roguelike clean-em-up - is OUT NOW on Steam! Time to grab a friend and clean house!! (or just play solo that's fine too). Grab your sponge and yellow gloves and battle through levels chock full of Nasties to take down the Four Filths of the Apocalypse!

Steamworks UX is a joke. Confusing, scary, messy, brittle, flaky, fragmented, inconsistent, time consuming, and ugly as sin. Does Valve even have product managers?

If you author a system that uses a PRNG, especially one for content creation, please let the user specify the seed. Kind of annoyed Bitwig doesn't have this yet. Good randomized sequences are completely luck-based and not reproducible.

I've been playing with L-systems, often used to generate fractals. Turns out it can be useful for generating waveforms and rhythms. Here's a waveform generated from these axioms + harmonic quantization and a WAV generator. < 200 LoC in Lua A = "AbABa" a = "bAaBa" B = "BaAbB" b = "bAaBb"

Here a bonus that I never shared before, a video of the custom NES tool I've written to generate game data. It was designed to create an MMC3 ROM and the code was assembled using ca65. I'll explain each individual tool in the thread.

Some more old pixel art from twitter. I made this sprite following #NES restrictions for a side project I was working on with @michaellarouche.bsky.social. V1 was using too many sprites and would have caused a lot of flickering, so I designed V2 to use less sprites on a single line.
