to add to everything i was saying last night, i think as a society we're just trying to move too fast and we just need to slow down and enjoy things. you aren't watching something if your attention is split and you're not actually soaking it in

ultimately it feels like people are trying to min-max their time and i get it. time is my worst enemy but ultimately i believe you are wasting your time by only half-experiencing something, to where you don't even remember any details because you weren't actually soaking it in

i will say i have a huge backlog of unfinished games that haunts me because of how i choose to consume video games. maybe that's something i need to adjust to be less rigid with having to experience every part of a game but i still prefer that to rushing through a game

it's okay to take your time with something. i used to speed through pokémon games, not read any dialogue, etc., but I enjoy gaming most when i take my time and i explore every nook and cranny. that's not to say you have to do the same but i think it's okay not to be the fastest or whatever

this may seem really obvious to a lot of you but as a content creator it feels like you have to be the first; otherwise no one gives a shit and that's just not true. being first can help but i think there is a lot of value in being thorough

This applies for second screen watching. For a while I’d turn my 2nd monitor off when I watched something just so I wasn’t distracted

I think everyone would benefit from forcing themself to fully engage with media Don’t pull out your phone when you’re watching a tv show or movie. Give it your full attention. You cannot multi task as well as you think

I’m talking about this because I just saw FFVII adding a fast forward button and I can only imagine there’s people that get bored of cutscenes and pull out their phone midway through 😭 brother those games are beautiful enjoy your cinematic video game

I struggle to watch TV shows alone because I’d rather spend my alone time playing games or creating If I’m watching something with someone else though I fully engage. It feels less like a “sub optimal” use of time because I’m spending it with someone. It means I watch less TV but I don’t see -
