if you're using something for free... IT CAN GO AWAY. the operator might be struggling, or not even interested really. and if you're running free infra, add a payment tier! make co-ops, run community infra together. but learn from the past: magical thinking does not make a healthy atmosphere.

As we transition into 2026, here’s a reflection on how hypercerts is evolving — and where we’re heading next. Grateful to all the collaborators and contributors who helped shape this work.

Holke recently joined Matthew from Ma Earth on the podcast The Regeneration Will Be Funded to explore how hypercerts can act as a foundational “Lego block” for fixing a core failure of today’s financial systems—their inability to adequately fund public goods like nature restoration.
