I am slightly annoyed that @allymobbs.bsky.social managed to beat a dungeon before me, but Blood Dungeon is a seriously good time.

Can't stop playing Blood Dungeon. Won't stop playing Blood Dungeon. You should probably also play Blood Dungeon too. pckt.blog/b/pixels-for... #gaming #indiedev @messhof.bsky.social

All the cool people heading to #MIGW this year! I am in town and will be loitering around the convention centre on Oct 7 - 9 to hopefully meet with prospective employers, or small teams looking for some production/narrative/bizdev consulting. If you know someone where I would be a good fit, DM me!

Another week of bangers. I am running out of time while also getting ready to fly to Melbourne soon. Also, absolutely stoked to be live on @pckt.blog. Using the ATmosphere to interact with blogs just makes everything so much easier. You can sub and comment with your Bluesky account. It's great!

Another #indiedispatch! We've got citybuilders, bomb disarming monkeys, & more! indiedispatch.online/shoretiles-b... @digitalsungames.com @leftostudio.bsky.social @hachinos.bsky.social Also, we launched on @pckt.blog. Now you can comment and sub using your Bluesky account! #indiedev #gaming

It's been a long time since I could sit down and do an #indiedispatch. Life pressures and then trying to ship a game while also raising a 2 year old means energy is a rare commodity. Trying to get back into it though.

I am excited to be heading along to Melbourne International Games Week this year after many years abroad. If you're going to be at #MIGW this year, I am looking to: 👏 Talk about job opportunities 💵 Explore funding opps for cool devs in Kyoto ☕ Catch up with old friends and meet new #indiedevs

I really loved Arco and always felt it was under appreciated. To hear it broke even is nice, but the fact it took two years feels like a crime. I wonder if it’s a genre problem? Visibility? Anyways. You should play Arco.

The cool thing about looking for work in the #gamedev scene right now is that with all these layoffs, everyone else is also looking for work. It’s going to be hyper competitive as people scramble for you know… a pay check. Makes it hard. On the flip side, studios can pick up a lot of talent.

"Indies will save us" No! YOU WILL SAVE INDIES! Go leave a review for that neat indie game you like, share the trailer for an upcoming game you're anticipating, tell your fave developer they did a good job, go tell people about such and such game that's just come out, you can make a difference!

I just got back into comics again after about 9 years out of the hobby. Moving to Japan I sold all my stuff, and they are hard to find and expensive to come by here, so I’m all in on digital. Starting on this one tonight thanks to @sweetshop.app. I’ve heard good things.

This brings me to any #Hellboy fans - where’s a good place to start? I literally know nothing about the character or universe, but constantly hear that I should read Hellboy.

Games writing Visible: The amazing narrative that wins awards and is praised by critics and players alike. Invisible: Full-time positions, job stability, and decent pay that reflects what you brought to the project.

I've been thinking a lot about visible vs invisible skill layers. i.e every craft has outer layers of skills that laypeople can recognise, and inner layers that you need expertise and experience to perceive at all. Could y'all think of examples of visible vs invisible skills in your own discipline?

So I thought that running Steam games on your retro handheld was a complicated affair, so I never looked into it. When Mina came out, I decided to give it a shot. GameNative for the most part... just works! Now I can easily commute playing classics AND small indies!

Forever immortalised as Steve, the guy who knows where the good toilets at the BitSummit river party are. Thanks for the shout out @haleyfax.bsky.social & @sarahpodz.bsky.social. I’ll write Ben and tell him a sickening amount of good stuff if it will help get you back next year.

Steve died by walking through approximately 47463782 spider webs in the dark on his way home from Bitsummit. The gentle sounds of frogs and Biwako were the last things he heard. What a way to go.

Hey #indiedev friends who are coming to #bitsummit this year! If you’re looking for production or narrative support on a contract basis, we should talk while you’re in town. Regardless, let me know if you are around! It would be good to see some friendly faces!
