I'm hyper-fixated on rendering the sky on your graphics card. Shaders and writing code that's fast. Making yet another SteamVR overlay. Space Calibrator: https://s.team/a/3368750/

Decided to spend some time adding Cloth and Clear Coat rendering options to my shaders. Based on the Google Filament approach. Implementing this for every single source of specular lighting we have in Unity was a royal pain, but definitely worth it ๐Ÿ˜ #unity3d #shaders

why the fuck did windows decide to uninstall my microphone drivers and just leave the mic device without any drivers assigned???????

man sometimes idk why i bother with vrchat content creation, the tools break if you look at them wrong istg. i tried making a world and wrote a proof of concept for some ui interaction stuff but it's breaking in the vrc client because references are breaking on upload (every ref becomes null).

When the fun and challenging proof of concept phase of a project is over so you gotta lock in and do the tedious work and augh augh augh augh augh augh augh augh augh (Taking idle damage)

2. automatic updates. steam will allow you to get ant improvements as they release. 3. beta updates. try new features before they're ready to be able to offer feedback in advance.

4. easier rollback to older versions. the branches feature will be used to offer prior versions of space calibrator for compatibility reasons. if you'd like to use it via steam, please wishlist it!

the steam release will offer a few things which i can't easily offer through current means: 1. better integration with steamvr. no fiddling around with an installer will be necessary, all setup should be done when you download it through steam.

got some boring backend stuff done with my overlay maybe i'll have some time to do something a little more visual this weekend?

Cannot wait to be excluded from places because 1. I would rather not share my ID with a US company that *totally* is gonna follow GDPR and *totally* will not share my data with third parties 2. I would rather not exclude people that cannot or do not want to get verified Yippieeee

Sounds about right. I often look back at the past and all that I have been through. It may have not been the most pleasant of times, but I am still thankful for all that happened as it has made me who I am now.

went fuck it and got spacecal to compile under cmake. now its easier to maintain the dependencies cuz theyre also submodules. will update the installer script to work with the cmake layout and test tomorrow.

ALSO i have a change coming soon to spacecal where i think i effectively fixed spacecal randomly hurling you towards the sun. at least from my limited testing, even in worst case scenarios (hmd tracker jittering + flying), it seems a lot more stable, and a lot less prone to mis-calibrating.

this is the worst electronic device ive ever taken apart its so terribly designed. i hope this thing's successor is more user serviceable at least because this was a nightmare omg.
