Ran a playtest today for my scenario In the Shadow of Us-hindava. Went great, lots of smallish things to change! The players now hate fascism a little bit more.

I got so excited about Atrapos that I commissioned a mosaic and made plans to transform it into a 3D book cover involving two varnished and tile-grout debossing. Look at this fucking thing, my LORD. What on earth could @soulmuppet.co.uk do next?

Hurrah for fancy mosaic TTRPG covers! I'll be very entertained if this turns into a trend.

Maybe you like to play a TTRPG as a little elf guy (or gal) and you're fed up with your usual green elf and semi spongey real DeviantArt adjacent art for your beautiful little elf guy (or gal) and so now you're thinking about switching up to a frogboi elf guy (or gal)

Looks quite cool

In the Shadow of Us-hindava is now on the program for Fastaval 2027 Pitching for Fastaval has become easier for me over the years, after realizing they don't want a sales pitch, but rather a concrete description of the scenario.

This is reductivist There is pretty much no reason to assume all, or even most, pre-agricultural societies were like this

We lived like that - brutal, slavery-and-genocide beggar-thy-neighbor competition for resources in which suspicion and violence towards outsiders was a key survival skill - for many tens of thousands of years before we even developed farming. We created culture for it. We *evolved* for it.

I'm looking forward to having time for a big game again, having a baby makes it difficult, but reading this thread made me want to dig into something truly challenging again. One of my greatest gaming experiences was playing one (1) full game of Carthage: The First Punic War.

This weekend I had the privilege of grappling with some very big and difficult games with a spotlight on Michael Lorino's Imperial Elegy. As usual, the whole experience got me thinking about big games, what they demand of their players and the rewards to be found in their exploration. 🧵

What I loved so much was that the sheer length of the game (about 40 hours) made it possible to suffer horrendous setbacks, and still have the possibility of clawing yourself out of the gutter.

Been pretty dormant this summer, but I have written a synopsis for a sequel to Ahriman and Zâr, so not that dormant after all. It's called 'In the Shadow of Us-hindava' and delves into the psyche if those who judge, yet long for escape.

I'm sure it was a little uncomfortable for Socrates to eat poison. But the bitterness of hemlock is nothing compared to the bitterness from having to admit you might have benefitted from racial privilege

Greek myth! I like to draw it! these are all inspired by those incredible ancient Greek ceramics, but with my colourful neon grot take on it. If you've a mythological project coming up and you want some colourful art for it, email me! ;-D print? www.inprnt.com/gallery/carl... #art #TheOdyssey

It is inconceivable for bits of your character sheet to be in the hands of other players

If you see this, please tell me the worst/most baffling bit of creative feedback you've ever recieved. Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.

According to Bluesky this is erotic (it's not) non-nudity (it's got boobs out). Dunno how the labeler gets both things wrong.

Dunno why we Europeans have such a phobia for A/C. Would love a bit of that cool air right now. The housing union could never afford to install it though

I tend to frame it less as “hobbyist” and more as “leisure time and income to take something seriously/carefully but not market-driven” Which is why I think a lot about how TTRPGs and AP would be different under a meaningful social safety net, or UBI.

OK, this debate is worth some actual data. If I’ve got this right, to figure out how many TTRPG creators are full time vs. “have a day job” we need to define a few things, starting with: - the scope of what we count as “working in TTRPGs” - when a freelancer counts as “full time” in TTRPG
