At what point does "valuation" stop meaning anything? Like clearly this metric is bullshit

*NEW* Colossal Biosciences’ Ben Lamm and Anduril’s Palmer Luckey team up on a new startup to genetically engineer war dogs for the military. Warhound comes out of stealth at $1.2B valuation For @forbes.com with @iainmartin.bsky.social and @mhunterhart.bsky.social www.forbes.com/sites/amyfel...

Wildwood was very good! Some minor plot and pacing issues, but still a beautiful spectacle and quite emotional at times~ Definitely give it a watch in theatres!

*Commerical opportunity comes through for beard grooming products needing men with big beards* *I have recently shaved my beard short* Me... ..noooOOOOOOOOOOOO!

As with all things economically weird, it comes back to, drum roll please Reagan He loosened a lot of the regulations that allowed children's cartoons to essentially become toy commercials with *slight* restrictions Right or wrong, we got some interesting stories out of it

It's weird that no one wants to acknowledge that every ahow you enjoyed watching as a kid was a toy commercial. Yu-Gi-Oh? Batman? Pokemon? Gundam? Teen Titans? None of these shows would have existed if they weren't selling toys.

Got invited by Paramount to see an advance screening of Street Fighter As someone who barely played the games and knows none of the lore, the movie was a fun, campy romp with a few pacing and plot issues, but overall not a bad way to spend two hours~ I also got Hadoken'd by my friend

I finally get to tell you about Curiosities. I have a new album coming out Nov 13 that contains a murder ballad, a sea shanty, and a song about Roswell among other curious things. I can’t wait for you to hear it! Preorder on Kickstarter to help fund acoustic sessions, videos, and a live show!

Why is authentic casting important? It's just a voice, right?! Be sure to join us on Sunday 1PM at PAX Together for our panel: Who Gets to Sound Like a Hero? The Hidden Performance Behind Representation #PAXAUS #DateEverything #Panel #KopiDateEverything #voiceacting

Morning everyone, extenuating circumstances mean today’s behind the scenes story is about my incurable disease so I’m running a sale on my online store to make up for lost income during recovery🌸 All reposts and shares to your friends who might be interested are EXTREMELY appreciated! Context ⬇️

Our ideas of justice need to reckon with an almost obsession with capital and carceral punishment, but it feels difficult because it requires the dismantling of so many other systems that make those punishments feel like the only option

If you're exhibiting at #Paxaus for the first time and feeling a bit overwhelmed, or even if you're just a little unsure of it all, here is my epic tradeshow thread to help you out 😃 (I meant to post this weeks ago but I swear August was only like 6 days long this year...) #gamedev #indiedev #pax

PAX Aus is fast approaching! Last year I posted a thread of tips and advice for indies exhibiting at the show on the site formally known as Twitter. Here's an updated and expanded thread for this year (settle in, its a long one) 😀 #pax #paxaus #indiedev #gamedev @paxaus.bsky.social

I only watched the first season of the new Futurama eps, did the joke pacing get any better? Futurama is my favourite adult animated show, but the writing for that first revival season felt really off

See also AI captions - I used to work as a captioner and they introduced AI to "make workflow faster" and it ended up being more work because I had to keep fixing the fact a computer does not understand the nuance of language context Now it's all AI and it's garbage

Fun fact: "Reviewing an AI made translation" is more work for translators than just translating it themselves, because AI translations do not pass the sniff test beyond the most superficial. It's a loophole companies use as an excuse to underpay translators, and nothing else.

I know why they chose OoT for a high-def remake, but honestly I kinda would have liked them to do the original Legend of Zelda as it's 40 years since that game It would never capture what the original was, but it would be interesting to see how they would give it a modern personality

Every once in a while I glance at Twitter and it looks so god damn exhausting - every tweet is a vague post for engagement bait or an AI essay on the most shallow reading of a scene in media. It's fucking bleak
