Maduro is the stupidest person that ever lived. If he’d just sucked up to Trump, he’d still control Venezuela.

Only Hollywood would think this casting decision comes down to having comparable mammary glands.

Reminder that they cast Ana de Armas -- a slender Cuban actress -- as Marilyn Monroe -- a curvy Californian -- and she was great. The movie sucked but Armas was very good in it.

Dude, Kyrgyzstan is not in the Middle East. (And yes, I spelled that right without looking it up. Sporcle website veterans can spell Kyrgyzstan in their sleep.)

JD Vance says of the Middle East that it's "a region of the world made up of countries whose name I couldn't even pronounce"

IF ... IF ... and it's a big if ... the Democrats take back the Senate, Ossoff would be my choice as majority leader. There's way more to the job than speechifying but speechifying is something he's very good at. Schumer can be the behind-the-scenes guy rustling up votes.

Just did a podcast interview (I'll link when it airs in a week or two). People who are good at interviews can make them so much fun.

I'm not going to get my hopes up but that corrupt creature deserves the boot. He burned the goodwill of the entire world and has turned a generation against the Jewish state. Worst Israeli PM ever.

The polls are open in Israel for several more hours, and the voter turnout rate is already the highest its been since 1969. Total vote has already exceeded the last election. I say again: this is *with* several hours still left to vote. Really, really not a great sign for Netanyahu.

An Arab chemist won the Nobel Prize literally last year. RFK is not only a bigot, he's a stupid ignorant one. (Remember, this is the dude who claimed COVID was engineered to spare Jews and Asians.)

I don't know if it's still true, but when I visited Israel a decade ago, they were trying to stimulate interest in science among the young Arab population, including a cubesat team that was entirely Bedouin girls. It was quite successful, IIRC.

Brooke Rollins may yet merge as one of the most destructive members of this Administration. We may be facing big shortages in food thanks to her. I guess that's what we get for having the temerity to think us poors should be allowed to eat meat.

About this H5N1 mink farm in Utah. It is REALLY dangerous to let bird flu spread unchecked through mammals, esp minks. They have similar susceptibility & respiratory physiology as us. Flu can adapt to human hosts by adapting to mink respiratory tracts. rasmussenretorts.substack.com/p/the-party-...

i don't think anyone should run explicitly on banning online gambling but i do think that a democratic-led government should just quietly take steps to undermine the industry and create an inhospitable regulatory environment

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

To me, this has become a litmus test of which Republicans still have some residual decency and which do not. Vote accordingly.

Over 2,000 alumni from Vivek’s all-boys catholic high school in Cincinnati have signed and circulated a petition demanding that he pull the ad and issue a public apology for “ignoring the moral responsibilities” of his Jesuit education. I think he’s pretty cooked.

I don’t think this made any difference, but it makes me very disappointed in West.

It's long past time we stopped attributing mystical powers to betting markets. All they represents is groupthink from the most internet-brained people on the face of the Earth.

Brazil elected Lula again tonight. Poll averages appear to have had Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro effectively tied, maybe Bolsonaro up 1 on Lula — so not sure why the markets had this race at 80-20 Bolsonaro. Markets might miss big in the U.S. midterms in 9 days too.

The powerful executives who cozied up to Trump didn't oops accidentally forget about pendulum swings. They either: 1) Like the fascism 2) Calculated it was here to stay, so going along was savvy 3) Saw no real downside, no consequences when the pendulum swung Crucial to show them 3 was a mistake

That this is in THE WASHINGTON POST is almost too much irony to bear.

I wouldn't quite say it's falling, but its string of victories has been interrupted. The only way to truly turn the tide is to vote like hell. And then hold the victors' feet to the fire.

Failed to stop inflation? That’s letting Trump off the hook. Trump CAUSED price increases. His stupid war is why fuel prices are sky-high. Everything else costs more because of that.

Trump promise to bring down costs, but inflation is still outpacing paychecks. With the midterms a week away, Democrats are trying to tap into voters’ frustration in the midterms.

To put that in perspective, he's made more money off the war in Iran than an entire classroom of average Americans will make in their lifetimes. Most corrupt Administration ever.
