A few photos from Ironman 70.3 Washington Tri-Cities this weekend. Race report coming later this week, but pretty good race overall for me, although I was a couple of minutes slower than last year. Next up, Oceanside in April. Thatβs it for this season!
35 years after Ten started it all, its live performance is coming to vinyl!
Ten Live captures Pearl Jamβs historic April 29, 2016 show when they performed the album in its entirety β for only the second time in band history and the first time ever in the U.S. Preorder at https://pj.lnk.to/tenliveBL
From four years ago: A race report from Ironman 70.3 Boulder, my first half-distance triathlon. I've been thinking I'd love to do this race again at some point.

It's very funny to me that Google added a "Generative AI features" report to Google Search Console, but it only shows impressions, i.e. "how many times links to your site were shown to a user in a generative AI feature on Google Search," not clicks. I wonder why!
Race report coming later this week, but in the meantime, here are a few photos from Ironman 70.3 Boise (more like 69.1βthe swim was canceled at the last minute due to the high winds at Lucky Peak Reservoir).
Here's how it went last year: www.giventotri.com/2025/07/30/r...
I'm expecting a much tougher race this year, with an expected high of 101ΒΊF/38ΒΊC, and possibly poor AQI due to the fires in Oregon (it's currently "moderate" at 96).
Made some changes to my website last night, it should be considerably faster now. Check it out: www.allencompassingtrip.com
(TLDR: I put the whole thing, including image rendering, behind Cloudflare. Faster and it's gonna save me like $20 a month compared to the previous Thumbor + AWS stack.)
Not my usual subject matter, so probably wonβt post these on my website, but I went to the Car dβLane classic car show in Coeur dβAlene, Idaho today and made a few photos. Iβm even happy with color photos for once!
It's race week again! This time it's Ironman 70.3 Coeur d'Alene, my fourth time racing there. Always a challenging race, with a very hilly bike, but also completely unpredictable weather. Last year the weather turned out perfect after a bit of a cold snap:

An older photo, from 2018, that I never got around to publishing.

Tried to calm my anxiety about the Escape from Alcatraz swim in two weeks by building a dashboard of the water conditions in San Francisco Bay using available data from NOAA. (I'm not sure it's helping my anxiety but at least it looks cool.)

I had never seen the music video for Natalie Merchant's "Carnival" and I'll be damned if it doesn't make me want to buy a Leica and go to New York.
