Reminder: The State Department's reported plans for an office of “remigration” stem from a far-right policy that calls for “soft-style ethnic cleansing.” It is rooted in the debunked Great Replacement theory and favored by the European far-right and White nationalist extremists.

This is so important it hurts. This is the tiny area of a massive sprawling city that Trump is attacking and the entire propaganda machine is churning to make us believe more is happening. Don’t fall for the lies.

Trump said he wanted a deal with Iran. I guess he couldn’t convince his good friend Netanyahu. No respect. Looks weak.

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

Israel aggressively bombing Iran—unlike two incidents of strikes in 2024, which followed Iranian missiles launches against Israel—is in part another consequence of a weak, chaotic US president. Worth noting that this didn't happen under Biden, Obama, or Bush, despite Israel talking about it a lot.

If they win on this they won’t stop here. Indian Americans, Chinese Americans, Cuban Americans, Vietnamese Americans, African Americans, they are coming for all of you, too.

That’s right. They want Mexican Americans to be ashamed of being Mexican. They’re leaning on the implicit racist belief of white people - including too many liberals - that Mexican heritage makes someone presumptively dangerous or criminal. It’s nativism and we shouldn’t give them one single inch.

Samhain@samhain23.bsky.social

They’re attacking latinos, flying the Mexican flag is about not bowing down to racists and the fascist administration it’s not about being proud to be “American” it’s about being proud of the things they are trying to demonize about you.

I live in the mid-west corn land of southern IL. Land sits ununsed most of the year, between October and May. No cover crops, no winter wheat. Nada. Just cropped off corn stalks.

Robert Rohde@rarohde.bsky.social

The US already devotes more than 40 million acres to growing corn for ethanol fuel production. If only ~1/3 of that land were converted to solar PV, it could generate enough electricity to cover the entire country's electricity needs.

This is the right approach — speak to them as you would an especially stupid child, spell out their crimes and your contempt clearly.

I  know your goal is to try to make life as hard as possible for immigrants.

You know, maybe I’m too prideful, but if I’d ever tweeted “I’m voting for the leopard, so it can eat the libs’ faces!” I think I would simply not later tweet “noooo the leopard is eating my face nooooo”

I am a government worker. We know where the inefficiencies are, but they are few and far between. The systems work, albeit sometimes slow, but that is for a reason: so we dont break important shit and we get things right 99.867% of the time.

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

Conspiracy theorists, and conspiracy theory-style thinking, is a major problem. That was evident in the takeover of Twitter, and even more so in the takeover of the US government. Convinced they’re the victim of dastardly conspiracies that don’t exist, find no evidence, mostly plow ahead anyway.

seems kind of weird that the vice president of the united states is openly supportive of german neo-nazis!

Joe Stieb@joestieb.bsky.social

Not only is he going out of his way to strengthen the European far right, that claim about the Berlin Wall is beyond absurd. This is a broad strategic alignment away from the liberal democracies toward the global right.

Trump is reveling in how he humiliated these big law firms: "You have to ask them, 'Why did you all pay Trump hundreds of millions of dollars?' ... "They just signed whatever I put in front of 'em. I've never seen anything like it. I'm actually surprised myself." abcnews.go.com/US/full-tran...

This isnt a lie if you think like a white christian nationalist. Some math: 350M Americans - all the non-white Americans equals? Could it be 258M? Ballparkish? I think it is!!! They are literally telling us their plans on the daily: "we are getting rid of non-whites".

We need stronger social censure mechanisms against being miserably, incomprehensibly stupid in public.

Imagine spending your life as embittered and angry as this pitiful excuse for a human being.

The New Republic@newrepublic.com

Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff for policy, has begun baselessly claiming that birthright citizenship is a massive welfare scam. Miller has previously endorsed a theory called “remigration” that refers to the forcible removal of non–ethnically European immigrants.

Many of Trump's decisions make a lot more sense when you remember that Putin owns him.

The Lincoln Project@lincolnproject.us

Pathetic. Putin isn't even on Truth Social but it'll get back to him, and he will just laugh his ass off. Just like the rest of the world is laughing at us right now.

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

Trump and Musk are weak, small men. While Musk cowers in fear over his Tesla bleeding money, Trump is getting slapped around by China and Russia. They don't have the cards.

Remember when the economy was booming, stocks were soaring, we weren’t in a trade war with China, we didn’t have a day drunk for a Sec Def, a couch fucking Cabbage Patch doll for a VP or an evil, incurious idiot for a president & we still funded cancer research? Yeah, that was like three months ago.
