In Greece, today the country is at a standstill with strikes to demand justice and for a tragedy that happened 2 years ago. There were 57 young people mostly university students returning to their classes who died in a horrible train crash. The railroads have been privatized- no one is accountable!😱

"The whole project is strangely beside the point, as though we built a machine that could harvest our food and then built another machine to consume, digest, and excrete it, and then gave over much of the world’s arable land to this project." www.thebulwark.com/p/against-th...

What type of art/narrative will artists make this year? Who knows? Curator Carrie Scott's rant is great in saying Artists don't need current political chaos or hellish wars or devastating fires or other human catastrophies to be inspired-hey will surprise by seeing the world differently..please

Our mother is dealing with the worst possible health diagnosis so sharing some of her happiest moments means a lot. She became friends with the Carters while campaigning for his presidency in Atlanta and made it to the Inaugural Ball. This brings back so many wonderful memories.

Childhood memory of my mother working on President Carters campaign in Atlanta and then going to the inaugural ball - mom next to the First Lady Roselynn Carter, Jan 20th 1977...[Remembering President Jimmy Carter, as my parents would say "too decent to be a politician"] #RIPpresidentcarter

Still in Athens for another week and the heart of the city next to the University [Polytechnio] is fascinating. What may look like urban decay or neighborhood neglect..is not..Its what is still left of old Athens before foreign capital washes it all away...and the locals like it and create around it

Parthenon marbles [aka Elgin] may be going home? The argument that looted art going back to countries of origin is problematic for many museums..but these are not just art or artifacts - these are part of only 1 structure - a little known architectural marvel called the Parthenon. It's time, right?

It's terrible politics and precedent but I'm going to be honest and say that the Trump team has been brutally clear they want revenge on their enemies, they are obsessed with Hunter in particular, and that would weigh like hell on me if I were his father and could protect him.

Artists and art are meant to respond..in some sort of communicative way to our human condition in their time...Until we start sensing new work for this period..here's an oldie but goodie.. Louise Bourgeois "Blind Leading the Blind" 1947-49 Wooden planks attached to flat beam..

"From extreme fear comes our power"/strength..to move forward..in this case together for all who want our country to find a more equitable path, not a theocratic authoritarian future.. [Quote paraphrasing Sean D. Kelly, author of "All Things Shining" ]
