I'm grateful for coverage of American corruption by foreign media who are not under Trump's thumb. To our former allies: please support our people by fighting the would-be dictator.

Donald Trump Jr. spent time hunting in Mongolia this summer with Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev. Reports reveal that Trump Jr. arrived in Mongolia in late August, where he was joined by Kremlev and oligarch Artur Martirosov, who flew in from Kazakhstan. The group spent two

JUST POSTED: A Russian energy giant has secretly moved to acquire a position in a massive Alaska gas project. Its part of talks between Witkoff/Kushner & Putin. But CEO of US company resigns after learning of Russian money in the project. A wowzer of a story. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/23/u...

So if the energy should go into other parts of campaigning, what are those? What opportunity are we missing?

Just as a private equity firm buys out a corporation and strips it for parts, a consultant class is raiding the Democratic Party and getting “generationally wealthy” along the way New from me and @adambonica.bsky.social newrepublic.com/article/2163...

> Mr. Putin, who started a war of aggression against Ukraine that has led to the deaths of tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, is wanted as a war criminal"

Trump made a deal with Putin to sabotage election security in exchange for Ukraine Just a stray thought that keeps coming back. Why would Trump need Putin for that? He can't rely on American cybersecurity people to attack their own election, much less keep it secret.

Krugman is wrong: "Why has Trump chosen this moment to switch from covert, deniable support for Putin to overtly, explicitly taking Russia’s side? His political bankruptcy has freed him to become his worst self, indulging himself by supporting corrupt, murderous dictators."

"His patrons could no longer protect him. Mr. Maduro was sitting in an American jail. Mr. Mildon’s most powerful ally in Venezuela was arrested and extradited to the United States. But there was a bright spot: Mr. Mildon had met Ms. Habba, one of Mr. Trump’s most prominent legal defenders. "

This place is badly damaged and will stay this way for decades. "Not only is Trump ensuring U.S. emissions remain as high as possible—but with this action, he is kicking America off the ladder of the 21st-century economy."

Finally somebody says the plain truth: "Trump’s effort is a racist attempt to single out a Black, hijab-wearing Muslim of Somali descent to satisfy his and the Republican Party’s bigotry. They want to be as cruel and inflict as much damage on Omar and her reputation as possible."

Service members forced into cold blooded killing will think of it every day of their lives.

The state may pronounce a death sentence, but someone else must live with carrying it out. The U.S. government has a special responsibility to not impose avoidable harm to the service members who will carry out Nidal Hasan's execution, writes @hettiealiano.bsky.social:

BREAKING: Trump's new press secretary just announced that Kim Guilfoyle has been asked to resign as U.S. Ambassador to Greece.

Getting fired by this White House for being too unethical. It’s like being suspended by the ‘86 Mets for doing too much blow.

I need #wins for an activist meeting tomorrow night. Got any suggestions? What has gone right lately? When you're in the trenches things can feel so dark. We share wins to give us energy to get up and fight another day.

An important finding that aligns with the results (so far) in California: "Six of California's 214 billionaires have been widely reported to have left the state" finance.yahoo.com/news/only-6-...

finance.yahoo.comOnly 6 billionaires left California over its proposed wealth tax—but they took $27 billion in potential revenue with themLarry Page and Sergey Brin alone account for $25 billion of that lost revenue—and billionaires are now funding a campaign to kill the tax entirely.

New working paper: the Norwegian wealth tax was a huge success. The "exodus" of wealthy people never happened (less than 100 individuals left). Tax revenue increased by 71.5%. No changes in business activity or investment. www.nber.org/papers/w35854
