Trump’s efforts to tear down the East Potomac Golf Course in open defiance of a court order is about much, much more than golf. Another must-read from @lizdye.bsky.social for @atrupar.com.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"So who gives a shit about a golf course? Trump does — enough to lie to a federal judge about it, then call her insane when she noticed. The rest of us should care at least that much." — @lizdye.bsky.social

Oh of course… Occam‘s razor: 1. Ukraine bombs Russian data centers, killing tens of thousands of Russian Internet bots. 2. Elon Musk posts, “Ukraine you’ve gone too far!“ 3. Starlink goes dark for Ukraine. I get it now !

Can’t Allow Elon Musk the Power to Intervene in Wars No individual should be able to disrupt military ops like Musk did with Ukraine’s. I wrote that when he did it in 2023. Was told the problem was contract rules. Nope. Happened again. The problem is too much power, esp for an enemy of democracy.

I will never get over that an American president is screwing a democracy that was attacked by Russia and is bowing down to Putin. And I will never get over the fact that congressional Republican cowards are letting him do it.

Anyone still buying Dell products- that means that laptop many are likely using daily- should seriously reconsider how they spend their personal dollars, and draw a line with employers that provide Dell as the only option for workplace tools. They are complicit.

Eric Schmitt is what happens when a state becomes so red that you don’t need to be a talented politician to become a US Senator. And to be fair, there are examples of this in blue states too. Iron sharpens iron.

This is priceless. Check out how local news is reporting on Sen Eric Schmidt’s clown-show grilling of Jack Smith. They found Jack Smith at the game… “Top corner, section 109, row 1. In fact, that seat doesn’t even exist in Atlanta.”

No matter what happens in the upcoming midterm elections or even the 2028 presidential contest, Canadians will not forget how they are being treated right now — or how some Americans react when we fight back, @maxfawcett.bsky.social writes.

nationalobserver.comAmerica still doesn't understand how deep the rift goesMemo to our friends (and yes, our enemies) to the south: the problem isn’t just Donald Trump. It’s you

This warning from David Letterman to the media from just a year ago feels sadly too relevant today. He is right: You can't appease a tyrant.

Also notable here: Scalise is using Trump's appearance at the White House Correspondents Dinner as evidence to claim that Trump is a fan of the press. The people who organized the dinner are being used exactly as predicted.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

KARL: Do you support Trump banning news organizations because he doesn't like what they're reporting? SCALISE: Look, Biden removed the press credentials from 400 agencies KARL: That's not true. 400 reporters who had credentials didn't reapply. They weren't banned from the WH. That did not happen.

This thread, I think, makes a good distinction. The conduct of the Trump administration is no longer surprising or shocking, but it still does, and should, shock the conscience: a phrase that refers not to the unexpectedness, but the brazen cruelty of the actions.

Obviously the feds lie a lot no matter who is president but holy shit if it was at like an 8 before the trump Vance era has dialed it up to an 18 at least. I know u know this but: it is absurd the sheer degree that “assume their statements false until proven otherwise” is just standard operating…

The real problem isn’t just Trump or his sycophantic enablers in Congress or right-wing media, or the grifters & scammers on social media. It’s his supporters. They’ve lost the ability to care about truth or recognize it. The ability to discern right from wrong. Competence from buffoonery.

Ask him about 1776. I mean, gosh, that was like 250 years ago. What are his memories of that year here in...America?

"September 11th was 25 years ago" -- Ted Cruz defends Trump lying about his response to 9/11 but suggesting he might not remember because it was so long ago

He is such an ass. So unnecessary to insult a former President for no reason other than being a playground bully. Totally clueless about the somber occasion.

JD Vance on the 25th anniversary of 9/11: "As you guys can probably guess, I'm really looking forward to hanging out with Joe Biden. I'm sure we'll have many many intense intellectual conversations. We'll have a great time."

` 60+ Cherry Trees were cut down in DC to make way for a golf course for Trump. This act violated a court order. They did it anyway because the law doesn’t apply to this administration. These trees were gifted to the American people by Japan in 1912. More destruction by a criminal government.

These posts from America First Policy Institute show that Enes Kanter Freedom not only colluded with the Trump grift on his WNBA stunt but is also on the take from MAGA. He's literally the paid protester Republicans scream about. (h/t @timmiller.bsky.social for pointing this out on his shows)

Utterly humiliating. The US can no longer be counted on to keep it's word, so why bother negotiating at all?
