AI coding - The agent and I get to build a shared context. The humans on the team are left to read the docs. The humans in the system can't comprehend the influx of stuff.

I've been largely reinspired by the productivity I get from AI Models. I've been a deliberate part of the late majority (I feel like too late now). I've had so many projects where the goals have exceeded my time and my concentration.

I'm strongly disliking talking to people who are filtering all their responses through an LLM. Maybe they're learning something, but it's just deeply unsatisfying to me as a human being, trying to talk to another human being

For me it's important to write. To understand the thing, I must be able to reason about it and explain it in my own sentences and paragraphs. Revealing my own inconsistencies, assumptions and misconceptions. The internal discourse is important to avoid falling into perilously deep cognitive debt.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers. This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

Our democracy is too precious to be a plaything for foreign tech barons. Elon Musk doesn’t care about the British people or our rights. He only cares about himself and his ego.

went down a rabbit hole last night of looking up old thinkpads to buy as a backup laptop (that's how I'm justifying this). T14 with an AMD Ryzen seems to be a reasonable choice.

And I've just swapped the screen for the 4K version, which is brighter and better colours. battery life is going to be worse, but most of the day it sits docked, and only comes out to play on evenings and weekends, so shouldn't compromise my usage too much.

Failed removing the bezel whilst keeping the old screen in tact. I probably should have read a manual, maybe the application of little bit of heat to soften the glue would've helped.

Gonna post about AI My thoughts on what I see a lot of AI doing in software engineering is creating many new LOC that should be handled by higher levels of abstraction or more comprehensive platform implementations.

The creation of lots of new LOC by AI seems to me to present a risk in the future that we're going to become over burdened and have a huge increase in cognitive load to deal with maintenance and refactoring of AI generated code.

When really a lot of the challenge is to build better software platforms. AI should be a part of that, but the current approach to treating software as factory seems to risky to me.

Not done this in a long time - #AWS Wishlist Provide a way of Mapping of the An STS SourceIdentity from the incoming OIDC/SAML Authorization when vending a Cognito Role.

In mine and I assume many peoples use cases, we can’t or don’t want to customize the Auth token. I’m Specifically thinking about the propagation of the ‘sub’ claim from GitHub.

Just found the AWS cheat code URL that redirects ARNs to their console page. This is what my go project was doing. I got to learn a little go, no longer need to maintain hundreds of case statements to map resource types to urls. And I should get this out much quicker. Everyone’s a winner!

Replying to @charity.wtf

This does not mean that execs should never be im the details!! "Hire great people and get out of their way" is horrendous, disastrous advice! You need to hire great people and create alignment. You have to be in the details together deep enough, LONG enough to do that!

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

This is Great! Big Simplification for Event Driven Architectures on AWS

Luc van Donkersgoed@lucvandonkersgoed.com

NICE. EventBridge now supports integrations with cross-account resources, such as a queue or topic in another account. Only requirement is that the target resource supports resource policies.
