If you're a worker in tech facing layoffs, or just got laid off, or are looking for work in a tough job market, please get in touch with me. I'm building the Tech Reform Collective. doni@techreformcollective.org

I'm looking for feedback and contributions on a new set of AI skills I've written for PHP developers to write better web apps. As far as I can tell, it's the first skill set of its kind focused on PHP -- and I want it to be a hit. All input is welcome. github.com/garrettw/php... #PHP #AI #skills

I have entered my midlife crisis. It’s time I work on some things. I thought I had to leave a harmful environment to be able to grow at all, but I realized I can do more to shape my environment and make it conducive to growth than I previously thought.

First set of tools: journaling apps and a time tracker app. I’m writing down what I need to work on and then tracking what I spend time on each day to manage my time better.

By the way, for those of you not in MN: Homan’s strategy was to withdraw some agents, so it felt like we were in the denouement of the crisis, and then escalate hard against observers. They’re being incredibly aggressive with observers now. National media may not want to check out just yet

Not to mention all the things the next admin will need to undo, like, immediately.

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends. We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over. We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

Not wrong, but it was because freedom of speech is such a fundamental right in this country and affects everyone equally. Yes, some have a bigger platform than others, but it still matters to anyone who owns a mouth.

Jimmy Kimmel returns tomorrow. This is an important victory for free speech. Remember that it was YOU all using your power TOGETHER that got a gigantic corporation to reverse itself. Bless everyone who participated in telling Mickey Mouse to fuck off.

The South Korean government launched an investigation Monday into potential human rights violations following the detention of over 300 of its citizens during a US immigration raid at a Hyundai-LG battery plant in Georgia. www.jurist.org/news/2025/09...

We all need to remember that GenAI can be lurking where we might not expect - and possibly doing damage as it follows its orders. Keep your sniffers trained, people.

Yeah man we should really fight back by staying on X

Meet the Press put together a clip of Trump vowing in January to "bring back free speech to America," followed by him saying last Friday that negative coverage of him is "no longer free speech"

It's a very fun fact. But just don't forget that bit about you having to be a part of it. Recording a convo that you aren't a part of would be "zero-party consent" which isn't a thing and is therefore not protected.

steven monacelli@stevanzetti.bsky.social

Fun fact: Texas is a one party consent state when it comes to recording conversations, which means that you can legally record any conversation of which you are a part — and can share it with a journalist, such as me

100% agree. And it's shameful for Disney/ABC to so easily kowtow to one of Trump's cronies. They should have defended his right to say what he wants. I understand this "public interest obligation" thing but applying it like this was never the intent and is quite an overreach.

Governor JB Pritzker@govpritzker.illinois.gov

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say. This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand. All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Jarvis: I hate to say this to my friends here at CNN, mass media is dying, so they're taking the last of these vestiges of institutions that matter and they're trying to turn them into propaganda organs under threat from the head of the FCC

There's no excuse for the Vice President of the United States to use a heinous killing as an occasion to baselessly frame political opponents as accomplices to murder while threatening to use the power of the government to attack them. This dangerous rhetoric will only fan the flames.
