Look, I'll be honest. I don't think the Rays should EVER win the World Series because I do not think they are real. The nineties expansion teams were not around when I became a fan, so I cannot take them seriously as franchises. It bothers me that the Marlins have two titles.

People don’t understand why I keep noting that BlueSky is not a bubble, it is a counterpublic. It serves its own organizational function: you can see in realtime in January 2025, on multiple types of social media, shouting that an executive order is instruction to an agency. This one stuck.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

I took my unsophisticated salt-of-the-earth friend to the Cheesecake Factory and he seemed intimidated by menu items like "Asian Chicken Nachos" and "Baja Bowl With Pork Carnitas". Finally I asked if he wanted to go to Wendy's and he was like "hell yeah brother".

intelligence is knowing that if i ever looked up anything about Magyar, Lula, or any of the other election winners i would probably not be great fans of their politics wisdom is knowing it doesn't matter because defeating the global chud coalition is all that matters for the foreseeable future

Because there are 10s of thousands of Democratic electeds in the United States, and you have positioned yourself directly into a media environment that is designed to find every statement a Democrat makes that is even vaguely transphobic as soon as it happens.

Excellent point. Still sketchy as hell, but would both explain why they're DOING something so obviously sketchy AND why it's not particularly a top source of worry right now.

yeah, i think this is right. legally this is an absurd lawsuit. but as a speech act it works to alert republican voters to the existence of two dan sullivans on the ballot

As we approach the midterms, remember that the Alt National Park Service is a merch sales operation claiming without evidence to be a group of federal employees, and is not a genuine source of news about elections of any kind. Please get your election info from a local, reputable source.

This story is obviously not funny but I do like that he respectfully refers to this guy as “a constituent”. He might be a murderous fanatic but his vote counts too! I hope we can address his concerns but this was not a healthy way to go about things!

What the Attorney General of the United States seems to not understand, but the people who matter do, is that Congress hasn’t given DOJ any authority to block states from certifying the election. This isn’t a thing. And we don’t have to pretend it’s a thing just because he says it’s a thing.

🚨🚨🚨 Q: Is there any scenario in which DOJ would try to block states from certifying the election? AG TODD BLANCHE: Yes, of course. It is not DOJ's intention to improperly interfere with elections or the state certification process, but ...

I want to be extremely clear on this point: Over the next few weeks, you are going to hear dozens of stories like this from both sides. They will, unless you hear someone who knows what they're talking about say otherwise, be the result of machine and human error. 🧵

Dolly Parton's sister claims voting machines in Tennessee changed her vote to the Republican candidate.

Annihilation. Weapons. (A lot of horror is like this, I guess! It's better in your head. Which doesn't mean it's not worth watching; it's just that your imagination is scarier, heh.)

I was one thousand percent opposed to all AI-generated artwork until I found this beautiful image of a giant taco-headed guy in a taco-oriented restaurant serving really big tacos to a really happy woman. It speaks to me in a way that feels like it’s speaking to me alone.

Just got all my boys together to take on the wandering ronin who came to town. There’s like 15 of us and only one of him so pretty much the only thing that would give me any pause is if he was master of the devastating and lightning-fast iaidō style. But that’s not likely. Coward hasn’t even drawn h

I do not know this rep personally (or her staff) but I’m pretty sure she doesn’t think the president is reading that lol. Every day on here somebody learns about “rhetoric” and “figures of speech”. It’s heartwarming.
