The Dream were the 2 seed in 2018 and averaged 4100 fans. The organization correctly thought putting 3500 fans in a 3500 capacity space was better than 4000 fans in a 17k capacity space.

Seems bad to not hold the game at the tiny arena but in primetime. This isn't 1950s baseball when gate receipts mattered most. Sure it's better to have it in a bigger area but 12:30 on a Thursday is ridiculous.

Game 6 could not be more perfeclty timed to be unwatchable for me. I will have to wait until Friday morning to watch it. Pretty sure I can't go that long without being spoiled.

I am probably just missing something but how is that Angel move different than what Ceci did? Other than Stokes is bigger than Canada? The first bang not where they called the foul.

Swapped one offense and defense player each. Hayes and Charles is interesting. Curious how much Salaun vs. Thornton play off the bench. Assuming Ceci is first off the bench, we'll see.

Valks with a new starting lineup in Game 4 vs Atlanta: - Burton - Hayes - Charles - Williams - Stokes

Definitely a flagrant 1, hope Flagg is ok. Don't love Nesmith getting a tech and Marshall staying in the game, Marshall tried to escalate it into a fight, Nesmith just pushed him away.

You don’t need to play ten players in a 40 minute game, especially when some of them are giving you nothing

Maybe Thornton's help defense/ rebounding is good enough but if she's guarding the dreams least threatening offensive player in Naz, how much better is she than Salaun/Hayes.

Eh leaving Naz open makes sense. Good for her for hitting them in this game but that's definitely a trust the process moment. Valks defending that correctly, just sometimes you lose the bet.

I don't care about the business side of basketball except that I want the players properly compensated, but it is neat to see the ratings and sellouts for the wnba finals.

Tonight’s Finals Game 3 at State Farm Arena is officially a sellout, a source confirmed to ESPN (Front Office Sports first), and that’s for the entire arena, roughly 17k seats. A huge win for the Atlanta Dream org and WNBA after figuring out a way to get Games 3 & 4 moved to the bigger venue

it should be like when someone stiffs a contractor -- tear down the electrical poles, shut down the streets around the house, no more garbage pickup, cops and fire dont respond there

“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

I think the context makes this clip even funnier —the woman is Carolyn Swords, who was in the WNBA from 2011-2020 —the show premise is "pick a topic where you're an expert," she chose "basketball players" —Rob Lowe REPEATEDLY points out to the guy that she was in the WNBA —HE CHALLENGES HER ANYWAY

I would’ve ATE this whole round UPPPP! Did you guess all the players? The dude not knowing some of the goats of the W was disappointing but I’m surprised with the ones he got. So he’s good with me 🤷🏾‍♀️😂 #NBA #WNBA

I am a wnba ref defender, could be better, especially if the mnba didn't take the best refs, but overall you won't find better women basketball refs in any other league. Including Fahey in the finals is something tho.

Republicans Don’t Know Ball Update: A hockey blogger asked the two Michigan Senate candidates for statements on the Red Wings. Rogers: blah blah Michigan loves the Red Wings El-Sayed: angry rant about how the cheap owners MUST pay Detroit’s young star defenseman octopusthrower.com/what-each-mi...

Lol the Celtics sideline reporter said that Payton Pritchard got a 2 year max contract and I was like wait what but then I realized she meant the max he could be extended at. So 44 million over two years not 144 million or whatever.

Real monkey paw curling moment with Zach Lowe back writing but it's on substack. Genuinely don't know if I will read it or not. I know it's cause substack probably paid the ringer but ghost or beehiv is right there.

I'm a basketball sicko cause I'm watching a bit of the Rockets Mavs game from this morning in China. But the upside is seeing Yao Ming and David Beckham sitting next to each other and Kevin Durant and Kyrie welcoming the fans together including a little Mandarin from KD.

Have the dodgers done things to piss off fans other than spend lots of money? Seems anti labor from folks who don't generally have that view to whine about them paying players lots of money. Not their fault if your billionaire owner is too cheap and wants a lockout next year.

I'm rooting for the Dodgers between because they chose to pay Mookie Betts and my hometown team cried poverty as one of the most valuable sports teams in the world.
