This was a fun collaboration with @excid3.com and can't wait for the features it will unlock at @hatchbox.io 🤘

RBQ Conf is officially cookin’. Our CFP is open, and we’re looking for sponsors who want to support a warm, community-first Ruby gathering in Austin. If you’ve got a meaty idea to share—or want to help bring year one to life—we’d love to hear from you. rbqconf.com

Shoutout to @marcoroth.dev for Herb. Just fixed a bunch of small typos in our HTML that it found. Browsers are pretty good at fixing these issues automatically, but I'd sure rather be sending correct HTML instead.

When people complain Shopify is too prominent, only main company donor in RC, etc. WTF folks. As if that was their choice! Where are the other companies pushing Ruby and Rails with real money and resources to be on par? Talk is cheap.

I wrote about some of my thoughts on the lessons we can learn from the RubyGems situation and how we can move forward. blog.peterzhu.ca/open-source-...

Just listened to @jremsikjr.bsky.social on the Remote Ruby podcast with @excid3.com - XO Ruby sounds like it's going to be an incredible time. Small conferences are the best! I hope everyone that made it to Chicago loved it. Starting to recover from my Rails World FOMO and now I've got XO Ruby FOMO

Found an 8 year old db snapshot collecting $0.06 a month for years on AWS. It was hiding in a region that's not used for anything else on this account. Love AWS.

After being on the other side and listening for so long, it was an honor to join Remote Ruby this week! We talked about Herb, Rails view templates, editor tooling, formatting/linting, the future of the Rails View Layer, and more! Link to the episode in the next post!

FerrumPDF now adds custom renderers to Rails for a much cleaner integration. You now call "render" just like you would for JSON or HTML and out pops a PDF of the page. @gorails.com lesson on this soon!

"We want this to be a welcoming place for people who bring kindness, curiosity, and care." This is why when @timriley.info asked if @honeybadger.io would be a founding patron of the @hanamirb.org project, I said please take my money.

It’s week 5 of our sponsorship drive, and it’s time to talk about the elephant in the room — Rails.

I had a blast at #RailsConf! Thank you so much for all the support for and kind words about my presentation on the history of deploying Rails apps. Your appreciation for my work on the faker gem was overwhelming and really touched me. ❤️
